Bought a ms291 with smoked plastic like that... list of stuff destroed... 2 plastic covers, clutch drum bearing, oil pump, oil line and bar no longer mated with saw body... so it leaked oil everywhere. Cure was ssome JB weld plastic in place then bolt oily bar on... separate and clean oil groove...

When I bought mine used ... about ten yrs ago it was in really good condition for 600$ in the Manuel was the original receipt 996$ it's a 1992

It has 3 sets of "teeth" on the inside of eye. Anyone ever run across this before?? I have had several with 2 sets... thinking this was very old axe.

Got this boys axe done for a friend... He does bushcraft outings with his kids.this is an excellent axe... had to move it down about 3/4 of an inch and fill front of eye. It was pretty beat but handle was awsome. Fixed a couple bad spots on handle...

Made this for the neighbor over the weekend... First time using gun bluing on axe/pick head...I really like the finish. Let's see how long it lasts

My 290 wouldn't oil any more than a 20 in bar... no oil adjuster was the problem

Can't remember what thread it was on...someone said Peroxide in a zip lock bag leave in the hot sun ... just rember it was on a large stihl restoration...

Boiled linseed oil . plenty of it in a zip lock bag... it takes a few days but it will absorb alot...

The more "hooked" ones are Husqvarna traced of pol end to point but quite a bit more gusseting . The strait one is freehand and basically a bonus... more for your wood pile . Thnx
