    Tillotson Hs260 speed ret ball

I have tried with green stihl line but the hole seems a bit large. I didnt think about heating the line. Good idea. I have already put loctite on the thread though, if it doesnt work im gonna try the heated line. Thanks

    Tillotson Hs260 speed ret ball

Im back from hardware store with blue loctite, this is the first time Im gonna use it. How would you proceed ? If I put loctite before tuning carb I'll not be able to adjust idle screw afterwards, right ? And I cannot adjust carb with an idle screw that falls off. Thx

    Tillotson Hs260 speed ret ball

Thanks for the idea, this is my first carb with a ball like that. Is the ball only supposed to squeeze between the screw and the side of the carb ? Or this ball is supposed to be “clip” there ?

Hi guys, Do someone know a way so that my idle screw stop falling from vibration? I have lost the idle speed screw ret ball that keeps the idle screw in place. Im in canada and this small ball is like 8$ with 15$ of shipping. Thanks

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Haha there was a balcony there before, but it was worn out so I put it down. I’ll maybe build another one this summer, or remove the door, or let it there as an emergency door. I’ll see !

Well I guess if the warranty is over they'll take it but you gonna have to pay. I'll let the experts answer your question. Interesting problem on a new saw though, Im gonna follow the thread.

If it's brand new, why don't go back to the dealer with it ?

    Firewood tip #368

I have bought the X27 for the cabin as I don't have a hydro splitter there. Now I bought another one at home and use it more often that the splitter. For the price it can't be beat

I rebuilt it with the right kit for my carb..so I suppose base gasket is the right one. The gasket have to cover the impulse port or not ? I’ll look at it

272xp running on 2.5 turns on the L side ?

No I did a complete carb rebuild except welch plug. She runs at full throttle with a nice 4 strokes. She cuts good too. Maybe 1 time out of 10 she dies after the cut. It is the acceleration that I can't get it right. L side is about at 1.75 turn in this video. At 2.5 turn she runs way better...

272xp running on 2.5 turns on the L side ?

Nop I let it soak in carb cleaner + brush it gently and reclean with spray of carb cleaner by all circuit. Old saw, old method haha I don't have an USC When looking to raise metering lever a hair, I'll reclean all screws holes with carb cleaner, maybe I miss something. Thx

272xp running on 2.5 turns on the L side ?

Carb has been cleaned and a complete carb kit put in. So junk and plugged screen probabilities are low I think. So maybe metering lever to re-check. I assume if she runs only at L 2.5, she's running lean so the rich L setting compensate ? So metering would have been set too low, right ?

272xp running on 2.5 turns on the L side ?

I don't have pressure/vac tester..that would be simplier I know but I work on just a few saws per year for fun
