Is this spur sprocket worn out?

OK, this from a friends a friends Husky 455. He said "chain stopped driving, it still will spin on the bar but makes a clunking sound and hard to move......." Anyone seen one worn this bad? He's had the saw > 10 years and is original drum/spur. He can't remember how many chains since then.

    Husky 455 clutch ?

Not my saw. A friend needs to replace drive sprocket on a 455. It has a spur. My IPL only shows a spur setup. Is there a rim setup that will fit the 455? If there is if you know the part #s could you post them, and/or what other saws have compatible clutch drums that are rim drive and...

    What E10 is good for!

A little off topic of chainsaws...... I only run non-E10 in all my equipment. Was cutting the lawn with an older Ford LGT 145 (14 HP Kohler K321). It started to surge and stumble. It's rainy and humid here now for ~2 months. Didn't have any dry gas on hand. I priced dry gas online, and...

    Source for Zama carb kits

I might have to take apart one of the carbs on my 036 saws. Won't restart when hot, or when stalled hot. I'm thinking the needle. Has not been serviced in quite a while. $teal dealer wants $33 for a kit. Where are people sourcing these that are not Chi-Com knock offs/junk? I know the...

    Tecomec Midi Grinder?s

Been filing chains since I picked up a saw in the 1970s, only used an attachment that came with a dremel tool besides. I think I'm decent with filing. Don't need a grinder....... Been hitting up auctions and barn sales this month. Last week CAD got me bidding on a 026 that came home with...

    Interesting small crosscut hand saw

I just got this today at an old New England barn sale. Will update with pictures tomorrow after I clean it up, dusty and dirty but not rusty.....not sure if markings on blade? It's an old one man hand saw, with a tooth pattern I've never seen on a saw that looks like a carpenter saw. I have a...

    farm auction 026

Was at local 4H annual farm auction this weekend. There was an early 026, newer oregon B/C, good compression, no Hi on carb, a liitle dirty but not ugly. I took a chance and bid on it, paid $85 + buyers prem and tax. Got it home and looked over. Airbox dirty but had newer AM airfilter...

Pruning the Son of a BEECH!

I've got a Red/European? beech my mother planted years ago too close to the garden. Nice spreading tree but it's taking out too much sun from my vegetable garden, and lillacs on the other side. Question is, can I take off the lower branches without doing grave harm to the tree? I'd take them...

    Old Milwakee Cordless?

I was at an auction this weekend. And a box lot had brand new Troy Built tiller tines I wanted, got the box for $20, a deal on the tines. It also had a bunch of old 18V Milwaukee cordless stuff, hammer drill, circular saws, chargers, sawzall......all appear in good shape, no batteries.....the...

    CL 032 Stihl

One of these just came up in the free CL listings. I got a reply in just after it was posted. If I get it, plan is to get running and find a good home maybe a friend who needs a saw. Looks like a pretty clean saw with original case. Badge does not say electronic so I assume it's a points...

Educate me about the Husky 61

This might get me into the YOU SUCK thread again..... A friend gifted me a low hour, dirty, but pretty pristine Husky 61. Has a nice Windsor 3/8 20" bar and non-safety chain ~ 3/4 wear. He said it was given to him years ago and prior owner said it ran good. He never ran it. I've not played...

    Removing invasives/pulling up by roots

I've got a ~ 15 acre woodlot I need to remove invasives from. I have a grant from USDA that supports first mechanical removal via pulling up by roots and/or cutting, with two followups with herbicide. I have a whole year to complete the mechanical part I plan on doing the work myself. What...

    rim sprocket interchange?

I know the small Stihl rims don't swap out. Do the medium spline 0000 642 1223 swap with Oregon Husky? If I remember they do? Anybody have a husky part # handy if so? I just did a search and most Stihl dealers are.........I won't say.... none in stock. The only good dealers is 35 miles...

What spare parts should a "full service" dealer have in stock?

This thread/rant is based on a disappointing parts run to a stihl dealer........ Last two days I've been cutting up EAB killed ash that finally fell out of the canopy for firewood. Want them chunked up, semi-split, stacked off the ground and covered on top, so they don't rot. Been using a 036...

    stihl 63PMX chain

Anybody got a source? Logosol has monopoly in USA. 84DL = $63 But unless really long bars, best milling chain IMHO Left Coast had same stuff ~$20, should have brought a truck load before they shut down, they also had GB Stihl 3003 mount picco bars cheap, I got those too

Stihl 046/460 big bore kit questions.

Search function here is useless as teats on a bull. What sizes were they made in? I'm seeing 54 mm. Did they ever make larger? Who made them and quality? Trying to sort this out as put some parts on the trading post. thanks
