Bought a Chinese unit ebay and works fine . $12, I think. it adds moisture pct numbers to what you already know from handling the wood and observing it burn. Experience tells you if a load is fit to burn, but a meter number moisture pct might settle an argument someday.

Also forgot to mention Super Split, West Bridgewater MA ! this is a small horsepower, kinetic flywheel design copied by DR in recent years. If you have 20" dia rounds, and ample upper body strength to rotate them on a table, this machine can push out split wood faster than a single wedge hydraulic.

The finished cord is split apple I keep for smoker and pizza oven operators. Took out some old stockade fence this summer and works well to keep stacks off the ground.

Morbark Anvil, only critical part is one corner. this can be resurfaced with a bead of hard surface weld, then ground to a 90 deg corner, will last for years.

good math: trailer holds 3 cords if carefully stacked. 392 cuft. /128cuft equals 3 cords. Better math: expansion factor for tossed or dumped wood is .3 or .4, matters not the size. A cord stacked at 128cuft becomes 128x1.33 equals 170cuft tossed. trailer at 392cuft/170cuft equals 2.3...
