    Store-Bought Potatoes

You can't do that on sonny's 5 acre garden.

'How to Protect My Vegetable Garden From Neighboring Agricultural Spraying

What we are saying is that you shouldn't have to protect your garden if the application is done properly hence the reporting. I also have 4 large black locust trees about the same distance to the field and directly south of the garden that are still alive after 50-70yrs being next to the...

'How to Protect My Vegetable Garden From Neighboring Agricultural Spraying

My garden is literally 5-10ft from the edge of an 80 acre field that was corn last year. It is a no till field with beans being planted right into the stubble this year. It gets sprayed with whatever the farmer decides to spray when the weeds emerge and never a problem in the garden...

    Chainsaw Chaps/Pants

labonville...stihl before that. The stihl chaps did their job. Was pulling out from the back cut on an old elm that started to fall and the 660 36"bar touched the top side of my thigh on deceleration when leaving the drop zone.

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

I bought a 35T Black Diamond splitter from Bomgaars's 5years ago. The black paint is peeling away exposing a gray color. I wonder if it is a DHT splitter that was just repainted. They are pretty much all the same.

Brush and debris pile burning in cold weather?

Alot of newspaper or cardboard in a small pile covered by dry sticks is what gets my piles going. Propane torch to light it off. I burned 6 piles of brush over xmas break and did not start the corn field on fire which is a plus. And use the wind to your advantage to push the fire into the pile.

That really looks like a maple and my guess is silver maple.

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Looks like spike60 is closed. "After a great 30 year run, we will be retiring and closing the store at the end of 2022. We'd like to thank all of the people who have supported us for the past 30 years, and wish you all the best."

Probably the smartest decision you could make in this situation.

    Stump killer?

The largest stem are around 4inches so not very large. I have concentrated Glyphosate and Tordon RTU at my disposal. The Tordon worked great in my ditch where I have trees starting to grow. I will use the Glyphosate first and see what that does. I will add some dye to it so I know when it...

    Stump killer?

Bringing this back up. I have a couple of dogwood shrub rows that have been infested with silver maple, mulberry and junk elm. I plan to cut all this down and apply tordon to the fresh cuts. These shrub rows are close to some pines, crabapple and other small trees I would like to keep...

    Stihl fs85 pro issue

I have a FS120 trimmer that was hard to start and once you got it started it would run for a bit than die. Changed out the coil, around $100, and it started easier and ran well. Of course I let it sit for a couple of months and it wouldn't start yesterday.

    Advice/suggestions for a Newbie

Buy from a long time AS member in the classifieds here for a saw. Some are probably close to where you live. You need a 50cc saw to limb with and a 70-90cc saw to cut up trunks. There are deals out there on FB. There was a 261cm and 400C on FB for $1000 for the pair on my commute route...

How To Store A Lot of Short Splits

Maybe the cheapest way is to find free pallets and make boxes with them to store the splits. Or place pallets on the ground and make piles. Shorts do stack as well.

I need to see you for a boat motor when I am ready to work on a mid 50's aluminum boat that was my dads. I sold off the motors he had for it. I just couldn't see the future at that time.

    Ash tree Borer

He has a trunk left standing after the branch removal. As long as there is no decay seen in/around the trunk, even with the ants, it should be sound.

    Pondering adding a 500i

My vote is to add the 661 with 36in and keep the other 2. There are just times when you need a bigger saw to handle those tree trunks.
