    Circular saw recommendations? (I know it's a bit off-topic)

While I prefer Milwaukee for several tools such as Sawzall and power drills, I don't prefer the fit and feel of their circular saw. It's a good saw, just not my preference. I've never been a Makita tool guy. Decent tools....just not my preference. I have been really pleased with the balance...

    Wood Hauler Pics

I don't mind manuals as much when I'm in the country, but I've found very little i couldn't do easier or better with an automatic. Including drinking coffee and talking on the phone. They are nice when you have a dead battery or bad starter though.

    Wood Hauler Pics

Toolboxes are ok, but they get in the way of hauling wood. I need to make up some stake pockets and sides, but what the heck. Haul most wood in trailers anyway. $500. Pretty plain and a little rough, but it works. F350. 460 manual. Hate manuals.

    Need some tractor knowledge

Allis was one of the first to improve on "non live pto" with their hand and foot clutch set up, but it still a step behind tractors with the independent clutch set up that came along shortly after. I have some older Case tractors with live power and a hand clutch. Hand clutches are nice if...

    Need some tractor knowledge

That is perhaps a newer definition. When tractors first came out with the separate clutch on the pto, the were marketed as having "live pto and hydraulics" On the older tractors without live power, the hydraulic pump was also driven off the pto shaft, meaning the hydraulics only worked if the...

    Need some tractor knowledge

Here's my take on this. Older tractors (pre 50's) had non live pto. The pto was shifted into and out of gear. The pto only operated when the tractor clutch was engaged. If you stopped the tractor, the pto would stop. For stationary work, you shifted the pto into gear, the transmission...

    Need some tractor knowledge

Of the major brands you mentioned, John Deere and IH will likely have the best parts support, but will also typically command higher prices. Case and Oliver would be next on my list. Models built from the mid to late 50's to mid to late 60's should fit in that budget easily. Maybe into...

    DIY Wood Stove

I'll second that on the insurance issues. We had to remove our double barrel stove and install a manufactured one some years ago. While propane tanks can make satisfactory air tanks, I wouldn't even consider one for this purpose. Cutting one open poses a good degree of risk. I would...

Perhaps slowp can get you a gig on her crew, working along side her. I would think she might even be able to put you up for a while. Now, wouldn't that be awesome!

Well.....all righty then. Let's chill out. Maybe have a beer if that helps. Ironworker, I enjoy your posts, as do others. Your pic didn't offend me and I found it amusing. It wasn't put together quite right imho, but that's irrelevant. If the powers that be decided delete it, then so be...
