So I created this choking lanyard system after buying the tree squeez by Buckingham and feeling it was a total ripoff. I think this system is much better than the tree squeez (170+$) or even the bashin pole patriot (400+$)
My basic kit cost less than 100$.. wire core lanyard, petzl ring open, smc ring and prussik cord.

You could even make one for like 40$ if you wanted.. 9’ thick rope, like 5/8+ a couple rings and some knots

Nicely done, I had the same idea after seeing the tree squeeze.
Are you flipping it up with a wire core lanyard as well?
I’m using the tail end as my flip line! But you could bring a separate one if you wanted.

I tied a Blake’s hitch instead of a Prusik since I only had like 2 feet of the orange hitch cord left and put a a black carabiner on it with double fisherman knot, so my flip line it that and the snap hook that came on the green wire core rope. Since I’m going to use this mostly for palm tree I’m going to make a super short 5 foot lanyard to run through the rings so even if I were to grab my hitch I would only fall backwards so far. And
