A couple of things about pillowblock bearings and axles I need to understand...
the cheaper pillowblocks have a set screw on the axle... if you tighten down the set screw wont that keep the axle from rotating??

also about the bandwheel...there is an insert you put in the bandwheel to accept the size axle you are using,no?
how does the insert tighten down on the axle??? is there a keyway on the last couple of inches of axle??
is 1 1/4 size axle usually enough for 16 inch bandwheels?

I seem to remember on a LT15 sawmill that the pulley on the drive bandwheel was the same size as the bandwheel or close..
am I remembering this incorrectly??

where would you look online for 1 1/8 inch shafting?? for a bandmill does it need to be keyed??
