Cherry Blossom Tree Bark Peeling

Looking for some advice in determining cause of tree bark peeling.

Just noticed this and want to save trees if possible. I inspected trees looking for signs of eggs or some pest but didnt see anything (although I'm not a professional)

Any help identifying this cause would be greatly appreciated

Not sure but could be cytospora canker.

Are the twigs effected also (encircled black cankers)? Black knot can spread to limbs and trunk also.

Thanks for the resources, i really appreciate it. Ill take a closer look at the twigs and post some pictures. Im not sure what is normal and what isn't. A little out of my depth here.[emoji28]
