Here we go.....just a quick look at the new MS241C-M.

I've had a couple of these for awhile now.....just haven't had time to dive in.









One of them had a little shipping damage.

Weights....

Here is a new unfueled MS261C-M with a 16" bar and chain.



And here is a new unfueled MS241C-M with a 16" bar and chain.

The 241 is 43cc, and the 261 is 50cc.

Now we are gonna tear one of em apart.



I really like these captured bar nuts. If you've ever lost a bar nut in the woods you know how great this is.



These saws come equipped with Picco......but a rim kit is available.



This is the .325 X 7 setup we will be using for test cuts.

The air filter is like the MS261. This is a very good filter system on these saws.



Just a few detail pics before we dig in.

I didn't have a squish cutting plate for this saw yet, so....



And the jug is in the lathe.

Here's a few pics of the jug after machine and port work.









When the jug is dropped, it contacts the case and must be clearanced.

When putting it back together, it's much easier to assemble the carb box on the jug before installing it.











Even after dropping the jug .032" there was enough adjustment in the coil assembly that no mods were need here.

Great thread Randy! Thanks for taking the time to do these "mastermind meets" threads. I know they're good for business, but they also really add to the forum.

I was Very Excited to see the saws on the scale, until I noticed the bars and chains mounted.

I would have been more interested in PowerHead Only weight.

No biggie. Doesn't matter to anybody but me, and your threads are about power, not weight.
