Newby question on chain wear

Ian, when a chain does'nt cut as well as when its new, it is dull and time to sharpen, an edge can go away fast or over time, but note how well it cuts new and keep it cutting like new, it will actually last longer when always sharp. Good luck with the new saw,you have bought one of the finest products on the market today.

Ian.....another tip. When you go to your dealer, ask him for just one or two cutters out of a very large chain, NEW OF COURSE. Ask for .404 pitch if he has it. Use these cutters as visual references for filing or grinding the angles and hook later.
