I was talking to Wiggs last night and we were trying to figure out what saw would be a good candidate for a build off saw.

Wiggs mentioned the XL-12. I have no idea.

It should be something that is easy to obtain and inexpensive......that why more folks can play.

Keep in mind that this is something that should be fun.......and not break the bank.

An Echo or Redmax build off would be pretty cool. Pro saw construction at a lower price point than Stihl, Husky, Dolmar or Johnnyred.

I agree completely. Wiggs is sleeping off a tough night at work.........I'm hoping we have some thought out suggestions for him when he comes to. :D

I like the idea of a 266 or 268 buildoff. you could include the 670 as well.

272s are harder to come by and normally cost more.

I suggest two parts to the test, 8-10 inch wood average and a 24 inch. I just dont cut one size wood.

I also want to know what everyone did at the end, what worked what didn't. I want to learn from these builds.

Another excellent post.

How about a build thread as a requirement to enter?

pffffttttt, evreybody's got one of them layin around don't they ????

Send me your shipping address in an EMAIL please.

Your 260 is done........I'm still playing with the idea of going back in though.

I wont be in it, but what about a super ez? If you wanted it real cheap, how about a mini mac build off?

How's about 6 cube work saws to be ran with a 36-42" in cants? It seems there's a lot of 288, 385/390, 064/066, 394/5, and dolmar saws out there at every gtg

I would like to see a build off (saw to be determined) and run off the roll chain. I don't care if it would be square ground, round ground, or semi chisel. I just want this to be a saw race instead of a chain race.

I've got some really good square chains to use but would rather everything be equal.......
