Thoughts on the Tech Tach tt-20k?

Wanting a tach for tuning 2-strokes, 4-strokes and 4-mixers. I see a lot of people using the Fast Tach but I don't think it is as versatile as the tt-20k. I like that the tt-20k is wireless but can be used with wires, if so desired. Who is using a tt-20k and where did you buy it from. My fast-tach never worked well, my tech tach tt20 works great.

I like the simplicity of the Fast Tach but the TT-20K looks like a better buy since it looks quite versatile. I am going to look for a user maunal.

I have the Fast Tach and have never had a need for a wire. It would only get in my way. BTW, I've had mine for years and love it.

I started out with the Fast Tach but with the abysmal customer support I went to a EDT-8. Mine did not work properly from the get go but being in Canada they were less than useful.

I like mine just fine. I started with the Fast Tach & didn't like it. I bought direct from DTI.

20K Tach would be my choice when and if I ever need another tach.

Same and Same both .5 refresh and 20K v/s 19.9K if it matters.

My EDT-5 has 4 stroke mode. Just read on above link to see what they offer.

Another vote for the TT-20K, had mine for 9 years now, replaced the 9v battery once and its the only tach I bother with now, all the rest stopped working after a couple of years. The TT-20 works fine wireless.

TT-20K looks considerably larger. I'm just wondering why you guys want the larger unit.

Yes, it is larger but I want it because I think it should be able to do more for my money. Trying to buy one tach vs two or three.

I found that the wireless tachs won`t work correctly on the old all mag saws that had heavy magnesium covers over the sparkplug, all of the tachs work good with plastic top shroud saws.

I thought we were comparing the tt-20K to the Fast Tach. Is the Tiny Tach wireless? I don't think it is but don't know for sure. I just found out, and I didn't know, that the fast tech has different settings.

So both the tt-20k and the fast tach are fast refresh (0.5 sec) per what I am seeing. Both are wireless and can be set to do different pulses per revolution. 1 per revolution, 1 per 2 revolutions, etc. Both have replaceable batteries. The Tiny Tach looks to me to be wire only and a non replaceable battery. The tt-20K can take a wire lead but that is about the only difference. Well, size, the fast tach is smaller. Wire would be nice for mowers, cars or other engines were it would be inconvenient to hold the tach next to the wire.
