Nice catch there, dayumm nice catch.

Hey T, I'm 6'2"....if that puts ole bubba into perspective for ya!....He was 40" not exactly a trophy but yea pretty dayumm fun! :)

BTW.....thank ya, thank ya very much.....lol

Just read this post, thought it was a 361 will cure everything post.I have a very good friend that is a bit of a Stihl Head but not hard core like most on this sight.
Now we both bought new saw's me a 2159 him a 361 He lives in the land of large trees B.C.
We played with are toys at his place my 2159 was a few weeks old yet sporting a muffler mod his 361 was a few weeks old a few tanks through it but bone stock they seemed to cut the same if anything my saw was a bit better as my chain was sharper then I do cheat sometimes and run Square. We would trade saw's as we cut at his massive wood pile. All in All the 361 is nice saw first Stihl that felt like a modern saw to me not like one of my Mac's. Really you would think Stihl would have up graded to a Spring Anti vibe a long time ago![Too bad the 441 is so fat!]
Funny thing is he phoned me Yesterday left a message all I could hear was a healthy sounding saw! He muffler modded the 361 said it made a big diff but he don't want to play against the now ported 2159. As he ran my 2159 and said that thing is faster than my 044! it might be in my size of wood but I doubt it will be in a big tree 20''+ plus.
I sold him that 044 I just want my 041 super back from him That thing was nicer than the 044 in my opinion it looked better and cut big wood just as well and felt as smooth too! Stihl has made No advancement in AV until the 361 and 441 of coarse this is my opinion.
If you want a good saw out of the box buy a 7900:popcorn:
But I love my Jreds need to get a real one with pure blood lines but then my dad was a Dolmer guy, He worked for them so was a bit Biased lol.Yet my big brother would only own a Jred,he did have a nice 80 that I fell in love with that set the basis of CAD.
I am so confused is the moral of this story.
P.S I really think my Mac Beaver 3.7 is just as much saw as the newer saw's + in the last 15 years it has never needed anything but air filter changes and a few new bars keeps on going and going.

361 wins hands down easily

The test was performed at your local woodpile in Va.

Conclusion

After widdling up that woodplile using the saws listed the 361 performed flawlessly. Plenty of power , smooth, all around good saw. Power rankings of the saws used were pretty much based on their size. The 660,066 were the fastest, 7900 coming in second followed by the 372, 361 and the 5100.

LOLOL, wasn't surprising at all. All those saws had new chains, all super tuned and running perfect.

For you Sawtroll I took the 372 for a spin as well. Regardless of the oil problem with that saw it does run very well. The guy I let use it comes up and says man this saw runs great. I said sure does, now stop talking and get sawing,LOL

The MS660 I wouldn't let my buddies touch, that baby is daddy's saw. Thats one cutting saw, wedogggggggggggie.

Did you leave the 441 home to protect the 372's ego? I guess it wets itself either way, huh?

lol:givebeer:

Well not really. Since I planned on only using the 5100,361, and 660 the rest I just grabbed off the shelf for my buddies to use.

Get this Peacock. Those guys were trying to block up all that wood with a 017 and small Craftsman saw,LOL. They called me and asked if I wanted to play in the woodpile today. I figured hell why not. I got there and seen those two little saws they had and knew right away why they called,LOLOL

When I dropped the tailgate they were like yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh some real saws,LOL

Well said! Less blunt than I am. Probably why I flunked out of corporate management and went back into the woods.

Fall of '54... wow, I thought that I was old as stones. You got me beat there Joat.

WT,

Well, as they say on one of my favorite XM radio stations, "Welcome back to the sixties". It's both fun and humbling to have the heart and mind of a teenager in a sixty year old body.

To the doers,

Joat

I've got friends like that. They insist on doing things like that in the slowest, most unproductive manner. It kills me to watch how slow the process. Sometimes it's just like, move out of the way and just let me do it.:greenchainsaw:

No kidding. I gave the 372 to one of the guys and the other took my 066. Man you shoulda seen the look on their face. They were like wow, we didn't know they made saws that cut like these. I think I smell some saw sales coming real soon, hahahaha. Those guys had a blast. Me, I was using the 361,5100 and finally stepping up to the big boy, my new 660. I wanted to really give the 5100 and 361 some run time. The 5100 is a mean little moma but a 361 it is not. After realizing what I already knew I pulled out the 660 and did some real damage on that pile of wood. That 660 bellers like a ole cow with that dual port muffler and man that SOB walks through some wood, hot diggy dog...

Yeah buddy. I tell ya I haven't run the big saws in quite awhile. I've been playing with the 50-60-70 cc range too long. That 660 I've had for a long time, well over a year. Never fired it up. A few weeks back I gave it a first time run. I was like yeah, I like this,LOL Its not a trim saw, thats for dayumm sure but for blocking man that thing eats up some wood,

Sounds like a great time!

On a pile of logs like that the big saws really shine. I bet you all had a good time in chainsaw Sunday school.

Sure was Dan. The air was brisk, wind blowing alittle bit. Those buds of mine, they couldn't get over the deal with the saws. They were lovin life after using that little 017 and that Craftsman saw they had. I shoulda took more pics, that pile of wood is a huge pile of blocks now. There is still about
10 good logs left in that pile. We couldn't get at em because we were having a blast burying them in blocks. Will be going back after they split of the blocks and get em out the way. I'll get more pics then. I don't mind supplying them cats saws but when the talk of splitting up the blocks came up I said wellllllllllllll time for me to head on home fellers,LOLOLOLOL
