10 extra gallons of gas.
Big load of firewood inside.
Lotsa candles (small generator)
Full bottle of Crown Royal

Same here, did you get hit by the ice storm last week?? We have lots still without power now up in the hills.

Yeah, it is coming here too. If my wife makes it to work and back tomorrow, we can mostly hibernate until the first of the year. I debated about filling the truck up on my way home, or if I should give gas a chance to come down more. I won't be driving it much the rest of the year. With the weather, I may be happy I have a full tank to rob for the generator. All I have to do is pull a hose off the carb, and flick the switch I wired to the fuel pump.

The generator isn't much good if you can't get to the gas station or it doesn't have power. I am still thinking of a natural gas conversion. At the end of 04, we had an ice storm and some people right in town didn't have power for 2 weeks. Luckily the weather stayed above freezing. A lot of the time it goes down to 0 after a storm.
