I've seen plenty of spit polished sparkling saws lately I'm beginning to wonder if you guys just have your saws for arm candy. Let's see some good old dirty, grimy, gritty saw pictures. Nastiest looking saw wins.:biggrinbounce2:

Brad great work on making that saw house worthy. Some saws like to be dirty and there is nothing wrong with that.

Here's the first PS-7900 we sold back in the fall of 2001. This picture was taken 22 months later. How many on this site had a 7900 back in 2001?

That 272 is apart on the bench now ;)

I just scored an NOS topcover for it on greedbay, to add to the parts pile I already have. Should be a nice runner when done. Looks like I'll get away without splitting the cases on this one.

The 031 moved to another board member's shop. It ran like that, but the crank bearings were toast.

LOL. A co-worker of mine gave me an 011-avt to clean up and see if I could get running again. Wish I would have taken a picture of it before tear down. I didn't even know if it was an 011!! It was so caked full of wood chips and oil. I bet I scraped 2lbs worth of oil soaked wood from it. Then it went into the dishwasher. The white case didn't even come out white. More like grey or yellowish white. Oh well. Runs good now..

I know this thread is about dirty saws, but...
What do you all (especially Brad--since that thing cleaned up nice!) use to clean all that baked on gunk off? Since I'm done w/ firewood for the season I thought I might clean the saw up a bit.

If you are doing a rebuild or completely tearing a saw down. The dishwasher works great. Otherwise. Compressed air with safety googles. Scraping the tuff stuff off. WD-40 works great too!

Here is mine from the fugliest saw thread awhile back...

How about this?...The guy I got it from said it ran the last time he had it out...:dizzy:..It has a custom front handle and a scotch brite for an air filter...

Mine runs...Piston and cylinder look excellent...It only has one starter paw and you have to snap it back ever time you want to start it...The rear handle is more of a twist thottle than a trigger...

If it wasn't for threads like this I never would have tried to start that one...

Not the worst, but close

My Dolmar CC 109 the day my neighbor gave it to me.
