I was reading were 13mm was the minimum thickness for a climbing line, unless you can show that smaller line I think it said above 7/16 is just as strong. I was wondering what would you have to have on hand to prove this when confronted by city enforcement.

Im not sure on ANSI regulating rope thickness... I was always under the impression that ANSI standard for climb line was 5400lb breaking strength. All of the 7/16th lines by reputable rope companies are at least 6000lb many in the 7000lb range. It wouldnt make much since that all these companies are making ropes that wouldnt meet industry standards.
