I hate the techlites don't come in .063". I have plenty of chain in that already. I probably have enough to make a couple or 3 chains in .050". I guess I might have to break down and try one in 28" .050" for the 576.

Just got my 32" Tsumura light and tough bar yesterday.
Looking forward to using it this Summer along with the 20 and 25" Tsumura bars.

Now...where to get some skip tooth that I can rely on that's more than marginally tougher than the wood we cut and won't end up as loops three or four drive links shorter before the end of their days than when they were born...

Got pictures of it? I want to try one but the price getting it out of canada has turned me away.

I think madsens gets $87 for the 20" so that sounds like a good price on it Andrew.

Let's not jump the gun here boys. No reason at this time to assume that all the bars will be coming from China or that we'll see any in the Husky lineup.

Fortunately even if they do, I don't buy saws for the bars that accompany them!

I have to wonder why Husqvarna doesn't just set up its own bar factory at this point. If stihl can do it profitably why cant they?

I got the new Bailey's flyer and noticed the Carlton Speed Tip bars. Blount doesn't list Windsor on their website anymore. Is the Windsor brand gone?

Yeah, windsor is gone. I just placed a Bailey's order about an hour ago, and yeah, only some old stock Windsor left now, the new stuff is Carlton speed tip. Unfortunately, all their Tsumura bars seem to be discontinued now too. I was able to grab a new carlton branded Tsumura Premium Sprocket Tip a while back from them. I also just orderd a laminated tsumura version as well because I liked the sprocket tip so much and those are now sold out. Grab the Tsumura while you still can. They are all on closeout from Bailey's (what's left anyway). The earthquakes and tsunami's in Japan are likely not helping the supply of their chainsaw bars either.

Just got a shipment of Oregon bars this morning.

Most of the laminated bars are coming out of Taiwan or China regardless of brand and have been for many years. When I start seeing the Pro Sprocket nosed solid bars from Oregon, Carlton etc Made In China that's when I pull up stumps.

Howdy,
Spike, I'll do you one better. I've actually got the Husqvarna branded bars and chains on the shelf for the saws that are held at Husqvarna waiting for bars and/or chains.
Regards
Gregg

Yeah, so do I. Got plenty of them. Probably the case for most dealers, as we all have to keep bars and chains in stock at all times.

It's all kind of silly, isn't it? We've got bars to go on the saws, but they won't ship the power heads because they don't have bars.

My gut feeling is that they're going to change this soon and cut the power heads loose rather than continue to wait for Oregon to supply some bars.

Spike do you carry tsumura bars or just total labeled? I would love to find a US distributor that had the tsumura oightweight bars.

Only stuff I have access to is the Total and Jonsered labeled units from Tilton. They are just the standard bars, not the lightweights.

I don't know of a source where I could get either Tsumura or Sugi-Hara bars other than online retail. I'd like to have wholesale access to either/both.

Yeah, it wasn't cheap to get it here, but it's one of those buy once, buy right kind of purchases. If I hadn't already had a few Tsumura bars for quite some time and been stoked with the way they held up, I definitely would of thought twice about this one. But the extra cost spread over the increased life of these bars is worth every cent and I'll keep buying Tsumura bars until, if ever, they let me down or go out of business, or get bought out and shut down by Blount, et al.

Husq. does have their own bar plant in Norway but only builds up to 18" bars primarily for Europe. The new techlite bars are also built and they are available in 20" & 28" so maybe we'll start seeing some other Husq. built bars overhere.

Tools can only be bought too cheap!

Wow if these Tsumura bars are as good as they look they will be worth any penny! Now I only have to figure out how to get hold of these babies in Europe. Cheap good enough trash BYE BYE! In the past Oregon seemed to be fine stuff for your money. But they seem to be going cheaper and cheaper. That´s the way things go now a days if you want to survive in bussines. But for some guys quality counts and is allmost priceless. One thing I've learned in life is: If you strugle and aim for a proper job done: Tools can only be bought too cheap!
Is there a like for their homepage?
But well. There is still the Husquarna stuff and the Stihl goods. They at least look like they want to hold a certain level.
The big problem is that there is to big money in selling cheap homeowner stuff than making proper tools. It's allmost a niche industry to make something proper today. Sad, very sad.
