i see the post about transporting sawing items into the woods, how about getting the wood out of the forest? i use my four wheeler and a trailer and pull up to 6 good size logs at a time.

40hp tractor and a 20' truck soon going to have a 15' conveyor to load the truck after splitting...
am i the only one that splits onsite?

Does your truck have a dump body? I like the idea of getting the wood split right away.

I haul my firewood out of the woods using a Polaris UTV, It holds a thousand pounds and the dump is balanced where you can tip the load out by hand. I used to use a Ford 1310 4x4 tractor, but it would occasionally get stuck in the swamps and I'd have to dump the loader full of firewood in the swamp in order to get unstuck. The Polaris has never gotten stuck yet, knock on wood...

The 78 Ford if it fits or the quad.

I do split in the woods sometimes, depends on where I'm cutting.

yep, it dumps.. we once put 8' sides on it and had a hair just under 20 cords it
i'm glad i don't have to deal with swamps plus we only cut wood in open fields (have a deail with the draymen)

and I can store 2-3 weeks worth of wood in the horse trailer off in the back ground.

Truck and trailer, or the skid loader for the big stuff. If its deep in the woods, I will get the quad out with the dump trailer. I keep a big pile by the tree line, and split there as well. I stack my wood along the fence rows so I can still get my truck in between the tree line and the beans/ corn.

I go in the woods after it. Old trucks are worth their weight in gold for this. Scratches, dents, don't care.

Like that truck. Great body style for Chevy too. I used to have GMC like that (but it was a standard cab) and miss it.
