Found my leak, crack across the top of TREE. Looks like it was weakened by the engraving and then hit hard in that spot. That's the very bottom of the tank. Will it do any good to vee it out and JB weld it?

My 346 is in the shop right now for leaking. Ill post in this thread on the outcome.

Got the word today that my dealer fixed it. Even though it looks like it was just a dirt issue (no warranty) he still didn't charge me. It's nice to have a good Husqvarna shop close to me. Plus he said my 562xp was in!

Repeat costumers are an asset to a dealer!

I bought this saw from dsell today. Very good guy. Got home, gonna clean the oil tank out and try JB on the inside of the tank. If that dont work, I may end up just replacing the case half.

This saw impresses me a lot with how light and fast it is!

JB should do the job well and a easy fix. Congrats on a fine saw!

All saws leak bar oil, when they are submitted to varying temps while not in use - you can avoid most of it, by opening the oil cap now and then.

Just open the oil cap now and then, if you really care! ;)

I must be lucky with my 346XP because it does not leak at all. Now my 357XP which has about 8 tanks use leaks like a sieve. My MS361 which is also almost new and not yet broken in leaks pretty bad but not as much as the 357. It would be nice to have saws which don't make a huge mess.

My saws take turns, they all leak a little, but not at the same time... :D

If you care, just put some old newspapers under them, and/or open the caps now and then, to let any pressure out.

I agree Niko,

At first I was bent when this new saw was leaking. Now I just set it on cardboard, and it is going to be longer term, set on a rag.

Insanity is having the same thing happen over and over, then expecting a different result.:jester:

Yeah i care! Its about like having a new truck that leaks oil! :D

Ah, it isnt too bad, just annoying when you pick it up and oil is all over the bottom of the saw and the shelf.

Little playing with my new to me 346 xp ne

JB'ed inside of the oil tank, yanked muffler, carb, and jug today. Squish was at .034"! Gasketless it measured .019". Perfect.

Modded the muffler, increased stock outlet by 50% roughly.

Set it up and tuned it to rich just off the limiter, then tuned in the wood to where it it just 4strokes under light load, cleans up nice loaded in the cut. I don't like limited coils, I think this has one. (blue coil). It tunes like it anyway.

I was warned by Wigglesworth not to run it too much or I might start really liking it. I do like it mucho!

18" .325 semi chisel oregon chain right now, all I have that fits the saw. I cant wait to swap it to 3/8 and a new Stihl RSC chain.

I bought this saw just to try it against my 261, then sell, not sure what Im gonna do now. It is a fantastic running saw!

Glad you like it! Was the cylinder in good shape? Your in trouble, you've caught the Husky disease.:D Don't keep your 346 in the same room as those Stihl's or it'll try to shoot oil on them.
