Well i haven't done any resto's or builds in awhile. So i thought
i would do another Mcculloch 797 geardrive. For those that don't
know what this is, Mac never made this saw. The largest geardrive
Mac made was at 103cc's. Here i'm installing a 797 motor at 123cc's
into a geardrive. This one will be a bit different. It will be a Super 797G.
Useing the SDC carb set up and painted all yellow and chrome. Block is
bored .056 over with a piston from Terry Ives, Famous kart motor
builder.
I got the block back from the machine shop the other day and got it
all together. I had already had a few parts painted months ago as
well as a couple chrome parts all done.
This is what i have done over the past two days.

Lee, is that a Gravely peeking around the door? I knew you were a man of impeccable tastes. Ron

That it is, But needs work.

Nice!

How'd you clean it up? Ultrasonic cleaner?

Looks great!

Everything cleaned in a parts washer then bead blasted.
Will be washed with solvent cleaner prior to paint.

Very nice. If I hadn't stumbled onto that MC70G Kartsaw already built, something like this would have been my next project. Can't wait to see it finished. I see you found a good source for those Mac sized machine screws.

Nice work Lee.:msp_thumbup:

What gear ratio are using in this one?
