Wind finally calmed down today after several days. Supposed to be even worse (gusts to 50) tomorrow and then looks like nice weather. This one will be over your way in a day or two again.

Just make sure to send your temperatures with it! I've got a big black, gray, brown, and white blob that I suspect is hiding a plow truck under it somewhere, out in the driveway. Could really use a thaw at this point!

Meh, we got about 6-8" of wet snow yesterday. Today however is the first day of spring! It looks like there are a few storms backed up that will affect us over the next week or so. It's just too late in the season for this much snow. We had none on the ground and all I did was tear up lot's of gravel and sod plowing yesterday. So go ahead and keep your storms out there! LOL

We're lookin' to see near record lows tonight... something well below zero.
Then Saturday evening the snow is supposed to start... something around 8-inches by Monday afternoon.
Wind speeds are just a guess right now... predicting something in the 20-30 MPH with higher gusts.
I'm really, really, really sick of winter.

This winter is hanging around like in-laws that don't want to go home.

Got 6" of snow yesterday and low temps combined with a lack of sun mean it will be staying with us for a while. Normally snow in late March melts away pretty quick. And now there's a chance we've got more coming? :msp_ohmy:

Also, I usually start backing off a little on the wood burning by this time as the days should be getting nicer. Often I won't bother to reload it in the morning, and skip some days altogether. But we've had overnight temps in the teens and low 20's for the past week, and it looks like it will stay that way for the coming week. Glad I have plenty of wood.

-5 this morning - some of our streets in town are almost down to room for one car -
supposed to stay cold till Friday then 20 25 maybe.
Weather forecast the other day... light snow ( 6-8 inches) with light winds (30 - 45 MPH )
Have to know we live in North Dakota.

That’s another thing I am worried about I got 3 pickup loads of ash rounds down by the creak/drainage ditch in the last 10 years it has only flooded the banks once. Would be my luck it will happen now. How deep of water do you think it would take to float a bunch of 20’’+ rounds?

L-O-L! Just watching the weatherman. He mentioned that storm maybe bringing us a little more white poop, but in his words "Not much to worry about though, it's more of a Denver to Des Moines type storm" :wink2:

Blowing and drifting is the name of the game up here, the last snow was perfect for it, and the county road has been half blown shut the last two nights on the way home from work.

Gonna be throwing some more wood in the basement shortly, thought I'd have close to enough inside, but the new stove has run close to 24-7 since I put it in late January. Think I'll send another 1/3 cord of oak down the chute, then wait for Ma Nature before I decide to bring in some low grade stuff.

I've always had the classic Scandinavian Lutheran attitude that nothing good comes along that you don't wind up paying for, especially when the weather's involved. We're paying for that extra nice weather we got last spring now.

Cabin fever here in PA too. Glad we're not seeing the abnormally warm temps we had last March that had everything blooming when the frost hit. Wanna get more wood gathered before spring planting starts.

We are in the midst of this. When the occasional wind gust blows, I halfway expect the power to go off, but so far it hasn't. Our Socialist power company does a lot of preventative maintenance.

Here's the explanation for our windy wet weather today. I'm enjoying it because I don't have to be out in it! The rain is a bit on the horizontal side and slams into the west side windows nicely.

A ft of snow on tuesday. Same day last year it was 81*
