It is coming soon, August 16,17,18, 2012. Very much the same as in the past. The big "demonstration" will start at noon on Saturday the 17th. No charge to run your saws. We will be there all 3 days to cut wood and BS. Entrance into the grounds is free if you bring equipment to display. Use the exhibitor gate. Entry fee is $6 for spectators. Here is a link to the show website for directions and other info.
Badger Steam & Gas Engine Club
The feature of this years show is Made in Wisconsin and Empire tractors.
Here are the chainsaw classes:
Antique 2-man, Antique geardrive, vintage direct 5cu and under, vintage direct 5cu and up, vintage hotsaw. We use 1979 as the limit for vintage, so if the saw began production in 1979, but was actually produced in 1981, it still qualifies. The antiques are a little vague. The 2 man saws have been saws such as Mac 7-55, Mall 7, Disston. We don't want an 090 with a double ended bar competing in this class. There have been 090G's in the geardrive class. Vintage hotsaws have been with Mac or West Bend kart powered. We will have 10X10 cants for the direct drive saws. The geardrives will cut a round log about 15". The 2-man saws will be cutting something around 20".
PM me with any saw related questions.

We will have a class for the minimac saws and other similar under 40cc vintage. probably have a 6X6 cant for them.
Scott

Many of them are unable to cut even small limb wood. There are a few exceptions that do OK. My Son Peter will probably run his Remington, and if any of the mimi's in his collection agree to run, then he will run one of them too.

First for any that are considering attending I will highly recommend it. It is a wonderful group of folks and the location is excellent. Hopefully the weather will be as nice as it has been the last few years.

It looks like we will have more members from greater distances this year. I believe the under 40cc class will be a nice addition. In the future maybe breaking down the classes a tad bit further might be in order. At some point it would be nice to show the differences in the small gear drives. Say a Mac Super LG2 vs Homelite XL15. In the under 40cc class it would be interesting to see a O&R run.

This is firmly in my sights, hope to have a hot saw to run along with a few others.

Mark,

I hope you have it done also. Did you get a pipe yet ? You can use mine from EJ if you want. My knee still hurts from that day:biggrin:

No pipe yet. If you can bring yours along I can try to fit it up and see if it helps. I do have a GEM square type header I can use in a pinch.

I will try to get together with mxracer and get a pipe made before hand, not sure if that will happen though.

Mark

I probably have an assortment of GEM mufflers. You have to watch the outlet on most if you value your skin

Mark, that will be great to see another hotsaw. We can make the wood for the mini's a 4X4, that might be more appropriate. 2 geardrive classes would be nice. Make sure to remind me for next year. I'll see if Les has enough wood plaques, maybe we could add it this year.

We are loaded for the flea market. Going to he'd out before noon tomorrow to set up. If anyone needs old pioneer parts or other saw goodies let me know.
I will have a Mac 380/390 cutoff saw.
Bob

We plan to head out Thursday morning but I bet it is after the noon whistle. I am bringing just a few saws as the price of fuel has sidelined my truck. The van gets better mileage and the E85 is $1 gallon cheaper. Hopefully it is in Dairyland also:msp_smile:

Mark,

I am glad to see you are bringing a 2-10G. I hope to bring a 041G so those two should match up well. The weather sounds excellent again. I just wish it would rain like hel,l here while we are gone.

Bill

Arrived tonight Hopefully there will be some good finds at the flea market tomorrow
