That 241C you did for me is one sweet saw my friend, there may be one or two more coming your way.:)

There's no reason to think that the MS261C would not be the same Andrew.

I've never liked the idea of having to kill the stratos to make the 261 a real runner. But I found the same thing Brad did on that saw.....It just will not "come alive" without doing the mods that Brad discovered on the first of those. Kudos to him for figuring that out.

The M-Tronic system is a game changer though.....as we saw on your MS241C. I'm really excited to finally be able to make a truly strong 50cc Stihl with the benefits of the strato system intact.

The fuel savings and reduction of hydrocarbons in the exhaust are something I really like about the newer generation of stratified saws......

what happens if they all arrive at the same time?

I'm not sure........time stamps on the shipping label would come into play then I reckon.

hey randy can you get me one

I'll be going to the dealer in the morning.....if they have the "C" model should I get you one?

Has he ported your hydro splitter though?

Way to go Darren...... Wrong colour saw though. ;)

i had two huskys a 262xp and a 390 xp now the 390xp is a good saw but the av is to soft and the saw feels a lot heavier than it actually is to me , and don't get me started on that pos 262

Looking forward to seeing how you port the 261C. This site is better than tv (which I haven't watched in years)

This calls for some:popcorn:. Cant wait to see the end results randy!

One thing folks never seen to get is that there are many different ways to skin a cat. Just because I do things a certain way and someone else goes at it from a different angle doesn't mean either of us are doing it wrong......just different.

I look forward to being able to port this engine and keep the stratos intact......Brad saw that as a disappointment. In the past Brad and myself have had huge disagreements......but I can't say he doesn't build a strong running saw.

The 241C that I did for Stihlman441 is a prime example of what can be done with the setup and the M-tronic system. That saw went from having a bit of a lag in spool up to being a snappy little beast. The 441 and the 441C is another case of the non-M-tronic never being a stellar running saw, even with port work. They end up better than stock, but nothing like the electronic version.

To think that this version can't benefit from more than just cutting some slots in the muffler is insane.......

i hope your the dealer has one in stock but i won't hold me breath :msp_scared:

:msp_confused: You give us all an education for free! That's enough.

Well, I got an education here. It just seems fitting to give something back.

I'd really like to see this free port work go to someone that really has been wanting a ported saw, but just can't afford to buy a saw and pay to have it ported.

When I found this site I had been sick and out of work for awhile.....I understand being low on money.

So you've gathered all this knowledge and become an ace chainsaw porting guru in only the the last 4 years (based on your join date)? Wow! :msp_thumbup:

Well......I spent a couple of years in trade school studying automotive tech. Then I worked as a mechanic on flat rate for awhile. But I didn't know squat about saws until I found this site.
