School me on the value of a Mac 10-10A running saw. I have one that has the left hand start, single bolt auto oiler pump (indicating later model) and a bar and chain in good shape. Running 3/8' chain on a rim and drum set up. I fixed the auto oiler today (after about a year of procrastination) and now I want to list it on CL and send it down the road. My problem is, I have no idea what it's worth. I looked on eBay sold listings and the prices on these things are all over the place from $25 for parts saws to well over $200 for runners. I don't know who paid almost $300 for one of these by the time shipping was factored...but I'd like to meet them...
Anyway, I want to sell the saw, not keep it. So I want to list it for a price that will move it but not be well under what I could have gotten out of it.
I realize this is an old school saw with no antivibe, no chainbrake and loud as all get out. So I can't see it bringing big bucks. On the other hand, they are pretty light for their power, are pretty simple to work on and lots of parts still around as they made 4.8 bajillion of them. So what do you guys typically get out of them in running condition?
Condition is probably average or better.

So, what kind of number would be reasonable? (I'm pretty sure I could part it for more than selling it whole but don't have time to do that.)

I don't want to post up a bunch of pics in this thread because I have limited internet capability here and don't want to sell it on the tradin post as shipping has become so expensive it's hardly worth it on a lower end saw like this.
Thanks.

On CL you should be able to get $75 - $85 for that fairly easy. I recently paid $50 for one at a pawn shop, but they could not keep it running. Turns out the end of the fuel line had split and the filter was on the bottom of the tank. Of course mine had the highly desirable masking tape wrap on the front handle.

Where ya located? Any pics?

Where in the midwest do you travel? I'm in Iowa and can get you started on a project one for reasonable amount.

Ok, I posted it up in the Atlanta CL for $60 bucks firm. Figure that should get it gone soon. I'm in a bad situation for selling stuff here as I'm about equidistant between Atlanta, Macon and Columbus and not close to any of them. So people want what I have but don't want to drive over an hour. And of course, I have the same issue when trying to buy stuff. A great deal isn't so great if ya gotta drive 3 hours.

You could always buy and sell them on ebay...surely you have a Post Office nearby...

Yeah, we have a post office. I haven't sold any saws on eBay for some time. I sell some small stuff on there like Nintendo games, etc but saws have become a pain so I pretty much stick to CL. I sold two saws last week and have one pending now.

Sold the Stihl MS290 today. I'm going to ship it to the guy since that'll cost him less than gas to drive here. Down to two saws for sale now. I hope to do some cutting tomorrow. Saw the sun today for the first time this month.
