I just talked to one of the big Stihl dealers north of me. He says the 241 does not show up in Stihl's northeast distributors inventory. Looks like im out of luck for a while.

The prices already went up here. Some, but not all models were affected. My prices went up $30 on the 201, $60 on the 441, and $70 on the 461. Their prices are out of control, much out of line with many Husky models. Very frustrating.

As long as Americas printing presses keep running 24/7s, prices will continue to sky rocket in all areas.

I just checked with the dealer i buy from and a 441 c-m is 969.95 , while the husqvarna dealer i get things from is selling a 372xp for 689.99 , i may never buy another stihl saw on principal alone..while i was at it i looked at what a 461 R goes for now and its over 1100.00 , stihl is out of their minds !

There's some confusion in this thread. Let's put this in perspective. Stihl is not $100 or $200 more than a comparative model from different brands like many people like to express. The big two, Stihl and Husqvarna are actually priced very similar of eachother. Certain models like the 395 XP is actually more expensive than the MS 660 and has been for years 357 XP was a lot more expensive than the MS 361, I forget by how much.

You're also comparing apples and oranges. The 441C has m-tronic technology, the 372 does not. It's an old model, so of course the 441 costs more. And the 372 is MSRP'd at $879.95 with a 24", while the 441C is DSRP'd at $969.95 with a 25". These are the new prices, it was $50 less before the new year. I'm sure Husky is fixing to update their pricing as well. The proper comparison would be the 576 XP which lists for $909.95 with a 24". The MS 362C is priced the same as the 562 XP, the MS 261C is now $20 more than the 550 XP since the new price change.

The huge disparity you see in your dealers pricing is of their own doing. I don't know, maybe they can't move the Husky's w/o doing so. Fortunately, from a business stand point, Stihl dealers, generally don't have to do this.

The 362 C-M will NOT be available in an "Artic " version in the US.

Stihl will only have the existing stock of 362 and 461 in Artic versions available, after that no more for the US market.

How they can have no heated handle models in their pro line is hard to believe, but that is what I was told at my local dealer Monday.

I saw no need to compare a 661 to a 170 so the colors are relative within each subgroup of saws. Here you go with the US units.

Would sort of have been nice if the input was correct - but I guess we all know how it is with specs - and then there are calculations done on alredy rounded of numbers + results with more decimals than the input.......

Nothing new with that though, it happens all the time in the world of specs.

Yes, it is hard to believe - and likely not very smart! :givebeer:

I understand what your saying , but in the 357 vs 361 case alot of people chose the 361 for its price and performance , and the 357 wasnt very popular and didnt sell well according to the husqvarna dealers around me hence the price , i like stihl saws but not enough to justify the prices
