lmho!!! I love this thread. calling the weather unacceptable??? lol. i'm pretty sure the weather is something you have to accept. after this winter I would be a fool to expect warmth. lol. when it comes to weather, the only thing for certain is uncertainty.

spidey you make this forum interesting for sure. :)

Como up and give me a hand. Grounds firmed up already here at home.

Told you guys mud season is dang short on these sand hills.

Been saying it forever... the 88-98 GM trucks were the best trucks ever built. That old dog looks like it has paid it's dues. I sold my 95 GMC 3/4 ton a couple years ago because I was on the road so much it gathered dirt under the tires, which made it obvious nobody lived here. Sure wish I had just stored it somewhere else.

instead of a petition, just get a job as a meteorologist...you can be wrong half the time, and still get a paycheck...and folks will keep coming back for more.

80F yesterday...67F and calm when I woke for churchin'...fierce N wind started at 1300...we're down to 34F

we just covered the raspberries and blueberries (I put in the ground Tuesday) with buckets...the N wind continues to howl

Never been a fan of the IFS trucks, I like a solid front. But, that old girl is over 200K, mostly retired to farm/firewood duty, doesn't owe me a dime if it dies tomorrow, and I can wrench on it with good old hand tools and fix whatever needs fixing.

I'm shopping cars and trucks right now, need to replace my commuter car. I WANT a truck, but NEED another car - 90 miles round trip a day. Maybe my heart will override my brain and I'll end up with 2 trucks in the driveway. I can always buy a beater car later - right?

Yeah, I'm kinda in the same position. I have an 06 Dodge/Cummins and an 07 Chevy 1500 but want a 35mpg car. Been looking around and I believe the best car for me is an 09+ Malibu. Unfortunately the used ones are so high it makes more sense to buy new. Just what I want, another car payment.

Oh well, looks like I might go back on the road. Every time I come home I make it 6 months and miss the pipeline money. It's been 6 months. Got the right offer tonight.

Steve:

VW Turbo diesel. What you'll save in mileage over the truck will pay for the car and insurance.

We broke the 70°F mark for the first time on Saturday since October 12th, now they are calling for 1" of snow on Tuesday morning. I sprayed the fruit trees for the first time this year on Friday too. Just glad none are budded out yet. 22°F for a low Tuesday. I gotta remember to drain the hoses and the pipes feeding the hoses or I'll be fixing busted pipes.

I still have three inches of hardpack snow on my driveway that just start melting today.

My forecast is mid +40s for daytime highs all week with overnight lows in the mid +20s, we'll have mud here just in time for Easter.

Last time I checked us humans are pretty water proof.

I went for a run on my snowmobile today :)

My boy controls his own door to the outdoors, we play outside.
It doesn't count if your son is in his 40s.

My wood dries just fine at 80*. I'll take a winter like we just had, over a typical southern summer, any day of the week and twice on Sunday's.

Guess it all depends on where you grew up and the kind of weather you're used to. I don't mind a little winter but give me 100 degrees over freezing any day. got to 82 yesterday and I split and stacked 3 truckloads of wood in a t-shirt. Supposed to be 32 tonight and cold for the next three days. I don't like working outdoors in a lot of clothing. makes you sweat more then you freeze when you take them off. Ah well, you know what they say. "Different strokes for different folks"

Pouring rain and howlin' winds with a big cool down and snow tonight,,yer' right 'Spider, UNACCEPTABLE!!
I gotta' fresh mess of fishes I cleaned and soaking,,maybe a fire in the garage woodstove and a pan of boiling oil on top is in order for this evening,,me beer 'fridge aint too far from the woodstove!!

Well, each year one can count on at least two things from Whitespider.
He complains about it being too cold, then he complains about it being too hot.

Heck man, I ain't complaining about cold (anymore), and I ain't complaining about heat (yet) :D
I'm complaining about a friggin' snow storm in the middle of April... which is flat UNACCEPTABLE‼

I'm at home in Kansas City at the moment, doing telecom installation. The job I'm considering is in the West Virginia/ Pennsylvania area. If I can find a better job at home I will stay here.

I hear you. We have similar weather moving in right now. It's just that we won't get any snow accumulation.

I keep saying that this will be the last cold spell until next Fall/Winter. Really, it will be.

On the plus side, it was a beautiful weekend.
