Uhmm. While I can appreciate the flimsy build quality of that saw, is that loose connection really going to score a p/c? It is a "fresh air" passage, no fuel/oil goes through there anyway. It seems to me the saw would've had a poor idle and throttle response, with little to no effect at wot in wood.

What do y'all clean off the old saw dust with can I just spray carb cleaner everywhere? And also the built up crud in the top of the cylinder?

Hose it down with brake kleen. Works fine. Just try and keep from blowing junk into the engine.

What build up in the cylinder?

All right fellers I ordered a new piston and boot, now wondering if I don't put the gasket back in what do I use to seal it and what clearance should I have up top?

And what do y'all use clean the carb my carb cleaner can says to avoid electrical connections?

Yeah when I saw the rubber boot pinched I was surprised that would come from the factory like that and figured if I brought the saw in pieces and asked for a warranty repair they would think I was an idiot.

Damn I hate to agree with XSKIER, but well.... How much could that leak flow compared to the wide open air valve + throttle plate? At idle however, when the air valve is supposed to be closed and the throttle almost closed, it might be more significant.

On the other hand, something damaged it, and something was found that is definitely wrong. Hard to imagine they are not connected. Maybe it let debris in?

And how in the world do y'all clean the buildup out of the exhaust port in the cylinder?
