I thought I wuz the only one that knew that trick...

The van is mine, but I don't think I'm "Van Man". The only place I know I show up in the stats was the "GS 3.48" with my bone stock 036 sporting a 20" bar and nothing-special RS chain. Being that I'm not a racer and Chris didn't bother to show me a way to dramatically improve time via methodology until later in the day, I feel I could have gotten much closer to 3-even set up the way I was. It would have been more likely had I been able to find my pre-EPA muffler.

Come to think of it, I was standing there holding my 066 when the muffler 064 ran -- I remember him being asked was it really an 064 under the cover. Maybe the 1.66 is me. If it is, it's stock but for the Magnum muffler front and it had the same bar/chain as earlier on the 036. I know I ran it once for kicks, but didn't think I was being timed for the record. It's not even in the proper class. Really, I'd be (pleasantly) surprised if it's me.

I did have a little trouble with fumage while sleeping in the van that night but I thought it was just some of that aromatic oil in my hair and clothes.

I have to say that the van is new to me as of a few thousand miles ago and although I'm a Ford man, that GMC looks like it's a winner. I got 18.25 mpg at probably 70 mph average over 1300 miles. (Jeff, the final fill-up which should have been less than the famous 18.8 was 19.2, and I know the tank is full this time! Did we have a tail wind?) That's almost double what I've been used to getting, but the E350 wasn't such a city-boy. I guess I can put up with the more car-like ride and 1500 lb. less capacity. Whatever you guys did to my van, thank you!

Listen, we're going to lose all credibility with this slipshod reporting. We should have got our stories straight first. hahaha

I was just mulling it over and I know I missed all the open class stuff, and maybe even the piped 7X class, because that's when Rich was doing the pruning. The hedge trimmer class was run after we were back in the fray. (That's my 066 Paul's leaning over to fart.) The way those WV boys' saws were running, I doubt my (basically) stock 066 and woods chain was cutting as fast as his 064. But then again, Seth did like my saws last summer up at his place...

Thanks

Hi Guys,

As Dan and I planned our get together, and the day drew closer, I told my hubby "I am not going through this again - no way - no how. There will not be another one". Now my famous last words are" When is the next one"? In fact, I have already started planning the menu.

I really enjoyed the weekend of the 10th. Usually I don't take a whole lot of interest in Dan's saw stuff. I'm around it every day. We live, eat, and breathe saws all the time. Nothing new to me. But I must say I thoroughly enjoyed myself that weekend. All the guys that were here were really great! Everyone got along! I enjoyed meeting everyone. Now I can put faces with voices when they call. A greater bunch of guys I have not seen.

I really feel sorry for those that did not show because of conflicts and issues with other ABS members. Why can't people just put their differences and feelings aside and just have some good old fashioned fun and fellowship? Life is too short. I guess if you snooze you lose. Their loss.

Many thanks to everyone who helped. I must say that Sue and Eric were our saving grace. They showed here on Friday morning and just couldn't do enough to help us. What a great couple!!! Thanks to everyone who brought food, props, etc. Also, thanks to Cris and Gretchen Cicora. He played ring leader and she recorded the times and they brought 2 fresh hams - delicious! Thanks to Sedanman's famous ribs- unmatchable - out of this world. Thanks to Rich for the tree trimming demo. That was really something to see - what a professional. Thanks to Saw man for all the gifts and prizes he gave - plus all the support. Thanks also to Jeff Sikkema - for all the GB mugs, hats, and vests, etc. that he distributed. Many thanks to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules and drove great distances to spend the weekend with us.

Due to all the interest and inquiries asking when the next one is, any suggestions for a Fall saw fest? I was thinking the end of September, close to the 29th, Dan's and my anniversary. What a better way to celebrate than with a great bunch of good friends! (20 years worth) Let us know what you think. (If my memory serves me correctly, Sue and Eric's anniversary is around that date also).

Thanks again for a great and memorable weekend!

Sharon
Mrs. Dozerdan

PS - Thanks for all the e-mails and words expressing your appreciation. Hope to see you all in attendance at the next one.

We will be looking forward to your next saw fest.
Hear is a video of your man running his 090 in a 13.5" round 132 sq." should make you proud.

What's a pp? And dozerdan used to truly exist. .. my thoughts are these porters are just like the old mad hatters That worked with lead all day and went crazy. Just like body men who breath in all them chemicals lol
