Depends on who wants to know, and why.
Why does it always seem to turn into an argument and/or a pissing match here? If a guy likes, sells, enjoys one or the other and supports it, what is the big deal??Why do so many feathers get ruffled??? After all, it is just a chainsaw, and this is the internet.

Couldn't have said it better myself. :numberone:

It seems to be your feathers that mostly are ruffled, and the pissing matches you are involved in seems to always be started by blatant BS statements made by you, or supported by you?

You should also do something about your user name in all caps letters, it is offensive in itself as is - all caps is like shouting on the internet.

I don't think many takes you seriously, as it is.

Both good brands, each have their stronger spots in the cc spectrum. My dad bought Swedish saws so I buy Swedish saws. Wouldn't turn down a Stihl or Dolmar if one came my way for the right price. I've done a lot of cutting with my friend's MS211 and it's a great little saw.

I've heard someone on here (a homeowner, not a pro) chirping about what a pain Stihls are to work on. Personally I'd rather own a saw like a Stihl that is powerful and reliable than some box store cheapie because of how long it takes to disassemble. If I have to tear it down once a decade who really cares how long it takes.

The cheapest Stihl saws aren't any better than most "box store" saws, they just cost more, because of the brand name. ;)

Stihls aren't cheap that's for sure.

I ran a 5020 and 4218 back to back with the 211. Was like comparing a Pinto to a BMW 3 series. I haven't run any of the new Echo saws though.

Technically Jonsered 2166 is a box store saw so maybe we should use a different term lol.

Cheap saws? Earthquake is the answer! Knock off at its best!

When the smoke has cleared, the dust settles, and all the clouds have parted, it all boils down to maintenance, regardless of brand or model.

Again, Earthquake saws! No maintenance required! Just throw them away and get out another one!
