I'm sure you just threw that 36" on the 260 just to say you did it. You really don't run it setup like that. No way can that saw even oil it
I did some work on a 395 for a friend. You could turn up the oiler on it, aim it at the 026 with a 36"er on it, and the 395 would sling enough off the bar to oil the 026.

True story. Exxon loves them some 395's lol

so in other words, it can be done; as long as you have someone running a 395 at WOT pointing at the bar of the 026. cool!

Chitty Phil's 088xb running 30" .404 RM and a 390xp with 36" full chizz

My Dolmar PS-6400 & PS-7900 share a 20" Dolmar/Oregon bar (I also have two third party branded bars but they haven't seen much use thus far) and 72DL 3/8" round filed chisel tooth chain (thus far also Dolmar/Oregon, Carlton is next to be used) - it seems to be a nice universal length for my purposes.
Although the PS-7900 is screaming for a longer B&C setup, that's why she received an optional 36" Iggesund Forest bar with 115DL full comp round filed Carlton chisel chain which she handles very well.

My Sachs-Dolmar 105 always wore a 14" bar and 3/8" LowProfile round tooth safety chain, the bar length is nice for this saw, but I never liked the round tooth chain and might look for chisel or semi chisel availability.
The Sachs-Dolmar 105 is a 40cc top handle saw.

I mostly do bucking with my Dolmar PS-6400 & PS-7900, felling is OK too, limbing is a bit challenging but I do it with the 20" setup for over a year now so I got used to it.
My Sachs-Dolmar 105 is the perfect limbing saw, but up until 2006. she did everything the PS-6400/7900 do now - just a little bit slower.

what is your favorite saw setup? type size bar length chain specs and WHY YOU LIKE IT/WHAT YOU FIND ITS BEST FOR?

Mike Lee muscled and slobbered up my 066 for me. It name is the Freak.
She wears 36" full comp .404 in either square filed RS or sharp RM
She was built for stumping, and she commands respect

Brad has done that, it does help, but it wont allow anyone in the same zip code to sleep.
Also, if you are cutting dry or airy bark, you might have to worry about setting the stuff on fire.

Look a little more carefully at these pictures, its not a normal hole, not a normal screen, and not a normal deflector .............. they have all been altered

I use the most wicked saw I've got at that particular time with a bar that suites the wood I'm cutting, usually a 24.

What's the difference between a 277b and a 297c? Mine will do anything I ask of it. Yours has to be truly impressive

To answer your question, about 700 lbs ROC, and 20 horsepower. It weighs a lot more and uses a different undercarriage. It digs better and breaks out better as a result of the higher hydraulic flows.

When it comes to chainsaws? My current favorite is a 390XP with a 32" Techlite bar, 7 pin, Stihl RSF. Why? It's light for the power it makes, handles well, balances nicely with the 32". It runs like a raped ape and cuts any piece of eastern hardwoods I have to handle. I like Stihl RSF because it's easy to sharpen, doesn't overload the saw, being a skip chain, and it easy to sharpen with half the cutters.
