that said, a good reputable dealer is first on my list. one that has service after the sale if you need it and a staff that knows their stuff. i have been looking at the 241 but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Low Life here. I bought a Husky 555 AT last spring and there is no way I even break out the older Stihl 026 these days unless I manage to get my bar in a bind. It still happens because I am not yet an experience feller. That 555 is a great saw for felling, bucking and limbing. It is light and plenty of power for whatever you want to do up to the 20 inch bar mine wears. It always starts by the second pull and runs strong after it has warmed up for a few seconds. The first few seconds it sounds like it might die but it doesn't.
Personally in your case, if I were you, I would buy a good, new 50cc - 55cc saw and retire the old Poulan to cut up crap wood like pallets or punky, dirty or sappy wood.
