Thanks for the info on the springs. What do they usually cost for a set of rears? I had the inflatable air "pillows" on my last truck and I thought they were a pain in the arse. Slow leaks, hard to keep same pressure......

The kit/springs for my truck were rated at 6000 lbs total (3000 lbs per side). I needed extra spacers for my install, so I called Timbren directly, told them what I needed and they sent them out quickly and with know hassle. They're a company out of Canada and they are friendly folks...at least in my experience dealing with them.

Be sure that your tires are rated for the bigger loads the aftermarket springs allow. In heavy-duty pickups the tires are often the limiting factor for load weight.

I use the timbrens also, i pull a 12' trailer and stack it higher over the axles to take the weight off the tounge.I have weighed mine also at 7200 lbs , so it is very easy to overload when hauling wood! I only drive 40/45mph when pulling.

i have the whole timbren package on my 02' chevy 2500 hd and they are awesome. i put 1 1/3 cords wood in it and she barely squats. i have them in the front too to having on the snow plow. i also have found that they help the ride around town as well as cornering/ roll . i think i paid 210.00 for them new in 2000 i had them on my old chevy for 4 years and then switched them over to my hd in 04 they are awesome!!!!

That's cool. Same first names, same make of truck and posting similar trailer weights . Back when I bought my truck, it was 2 years old, I was living in the city and was more concerned about a motor that would give me the best gas mileage for a full-size 4X4. I had asked opinions and did some research and was told that I didn't need the 5.4L, but if I had been able to look into the future to present day, I would have got the 5.4L. I never thought I'd be living this far south and east of where I'm from...and be interested in saws and firewood .
Which step bars do you have? I have to get some for my wife so when she gets bigger (14 weeks pregnant as of last Wednesday) she can get in the truck easier. I've been looking at the DeeZee Elite Chrome (chrome on stainless steel).

I usually try to load a heavier over the axles also, but this load didn't quite work out that way.
Good to see another F-150 owner that pulls "good" loads of wood .

Thank you,it is my privacy fence. I have 2 rows 130' long , it will probably last 2-3 yrs.There are 18 trailer loads in the picture, and I have about 6-8 trailer loads of hedge left to bring home. I dont plan on selling any unless someone happens to stop by and ask.

I use the same trailer only i just throw it in , i dont stack it in the trailer this time, and i throw the whole trailer load in the basement. I have an Energy King wood furnace down there.

When I was growing up I had to haul the wood through the garage, down the carpeted stairs one piece at a time. Hated it. Hopefully you have a more direct method. Fortunately I didn't have to close the doors all the way for each piece. Folks that heat with wood tend to worry less about a few BTUs going out the door.

That sounds like alot of work! I just pull up next to the basement window and throw it in, very easy.
