Guys, I have looked at a ton of saws and based on dealer availability have narrowed my search to 2 brands and 3 or 4 models. I am considering either an Echo CS370 or CS440 or a Stihl MS250 or MS210. Again, I already have big saws. I am looking for a light saw for small "clean up" work. This saw will see a lot of use so I want it to be comfortable to use. My son bought a new CS440 Echo and it is the easiest saw to run I have ever seen. It's like running an electric saw its so smooth. My biggest question is would I be better off with 35-37cc 16 inch saw or a 45cc 18 inch saw?

Ditto with others

+1 As rahtreelimbs suggested "if you like the 440...go for it"
+1 Computeruser for suggesting a 16"

 good luck with your choice orange fever!

This where personal taste comes into play..............all my mid-size saws wear 16" bars................never took a liking to an 18" bar!!!

If I had all the big saws I needed I would go for light and smooth. 35cc and 16" is plenty for limb work in my woods.

Choices

My 250 with an 18" bar cuts nicely for my intended use (limbing/ storm clean-up). I use it in the capacity that you've described without problem or dissatisfaction. I like the saw. It handles well, It's lightweight, and cuts just fine for a 45cc saw. Good luck!

It's been my experience that any of those saws you get, if your doing any limbing, makes it easier with an 18" bar. Reason being it's alot easier to cut around the tree when getting the branches on the far side of the log, you don't have to stretch as much bro. Just my .02. As far as the Echo or the Stihl, both make a good saw. Try'em both, if you like the echo, buy and don't look back buddy. I've always heard good things about echo's.
