For those that remember when I joined this great site I was highly ticked about Echo voiding my warranty on a 10 month old saw with a broken piston. As a gesture of alliance with the common man I have hit every site that lets you review Echo saws. I tell my story and copy/send the review to Echo. I have also attended Echo Customer Appreciation days and shown people the broken piston and told them Echo denied the warranty. As Andy Warhol said, "Everybody has their 15 minutes of fame." Echo has blocked me from their customer service email submission. :)

You must enjoy giving them free advertising. Trust me your doing them a great favor.

they could give you a new saw and possibly turn it around

Amazon.com: Amazon Customer's review of Echo CS-400 18" Gas Chainsaw

Some of my Echo PR campaign.

Lol that's very true. At the same time, there are lots of products on that site with few bad reviews. I always read the bad reviews first. Usually you can weed out the incompetent owners from the legit complaints. Check out the reviews for the Husky:

Kinda puts the Echo to shame. I think the key here is customer service. If Echo was taking care of it's customers, then there would likely be far fewer bad reviews posted. I doubt if Dahmer would be all over the internet slagging Echo if they had just stood behind their product.

There is more to this story and Echo isn't buying it. If you knew the saw was lean then why not tune it properly?

You gotta figure though;
a happy customer isn't going to go out of their way in America to post a good review on an inexpensive homeowner saw.
It's like going to a buffet and expecting not to see fat people there.
I make a point of endorsing a good product and outing the pharking incompetent products sold by charlatans and arrogant, narcissistic arsewipes. If just one person avoids the latter, it's well worth the flack anyone gets for standing up and outing injustice.
