Timber ya just getting old ole boy. Ya wife has kept ya handcuffed too long and your getting soft in ya old age, wink!

Facts be known all saws get heavy at the end of the day, especailly them biggins........

I can sling my 440 or 575 around all day with ease, this ole' mule is used to that cuz' those are the ones I use most..Maybe if I keep packin' the pig I'll get used to it...Seems like all of a sudden everyone wants their big water oaks gone,so maybe I'll get a chance to prove that to myself.

LOL...Sorry to have to say this but you don't ever get "used to it". What you get is resigned to the way you're gonna feel by the end of the day. That's why all this jabber about a saw being four or five ounces heavier than a comparable saw is nonsense. If you're walking steep ground and carrying everything with you all day....you are going to be tired and that saw (no matter how sweet it is) is just a heavy PITA. :givebeer:

Timber,

I'm curious if you think having a dual port muffler on the MS660 would make it pull stronger than the 395. Is your MS660 stock? For those of us who've never run a 395, we'd love to hear you report out on the dual port comparison....

I've just recently acquired dual port a dual port muffler for one of those 660's....It did make a difference, but not enough to make it outcut the 395...Soon as I get some time though,I'm gonna mod one of those 660's a little further and see if I can make it quicker than the 395...Then I'm gonna mod one of the 395's......I ordered a 3120 on Friday....I'm not sure when it is supposed to get here, but I'm very anxious to run it..I've never ran a 3120,but I do have an 088...This should be interesting.

Yes it sure will, but I believe the later 3120s are to much rev limited to run with an 088 - could easily be wrong though.....

.....btw, on the other hand, why does the Stihl guy 04Ultra have 3x3120, and no 088/880 (as far as I know)........  :help:

Troll it could be because of the 084
he has, but then again i could be wrong. plus the 3120's are alot cheaper to buy new from my searching of a big saw earlier. Maybe why maybe not.

I have a 084 that is very low hour ....The 3 -3120 were just on price nothing more... Two of my 3120's are older none choke with primers and one is a 2000 model ..The 2000 model is being used up north at bro-inlaws cabin..That one is a choked off mutt...

If a 880 came along when I'm in the market it will be here too..

So Timber My offer still stands ..50.00 for each of your Stihls..If a DP 660 wont touch your 395 in your opinion then time to sell your Stihl's.

Because Ultra is a saw 'ho, and the right 088/880 hasn't passed him by yet. I can see it now...picture a really nice 088 on a dark street corner, Ultra pulls up in his pick-up, the saw says to him "What are you doing big boy", and off they go after he pulls out his wallet. Okay, maybe not, but it sure sounded good when I first came up with it.

After spending many hours behind that 395 today...I'm hoping I don't have to look at it for a while....It's one thing to pick it up and make a few cuts or felling trees...But having to cut a 30 inch 50 ft long water oak logs into three inch thick discs will make you sick of any chainsaw.

Timberhauler, Ever get that 3120?

And with all your saws, I say you need a pro sharp. Will change your life.

Who makes the Pro Sharp and how much do they set you back? I've got square chisel on the 660 and it sinks through the oak like it was melted butter. It is noticably faster than the round ground chisel I ran.

My 372 must be "special" because it took about 10 tanks to run right, and has really gained power at about 15 tanks. When I first got it I was a little disappointed due to it didn't have outlandish power. Now after 15 tanks and a muffler mod, I'm all smiles!
