CP80 DX = 82 cc as well, thanks Joey.

Come see me again one day and we can take a new photo with the full family of 82cc models.

I think you are correct that the "60 cc" models are more like 62 and the "70 cc" models are more like 71.2 or 71.4 but you get the basic idea.

Mark

Hopefully one day we will get some more business in that area and I will come by. It’s been a long time since I’ve got the whole herd out for exercise.

I’ve been labeled or smarty pants or worse several times of my life. Most people that know me well learn to just forgive me as I don’t mean to be a turd. Lol

what is it about the 10 series saws that makes them so attractive? i know they have a different porting but is it that they create more torque the pull the chain but they dont quite rev like a 441/460? or can they rev high as well?
The 10 series can be made to rev higher, but you trade the wonderful torque that makes a Mac a Mac. I have an 850 that has been ported and feel I like the torque of a stock 850 better. If I want rpm, I'll grab a 372 or 460. I dont think you can have your cake and eat it too with these saws, but have only had this one experience.

There a great mix of old and new. Built like a real old mac yet still light enough to use as a modern saw. I've spent whole days on my pm700 in gum and the pm800 and your no more tired than using a modern saw. Most parts are around still and the sound of them is addictive. Jump on you tube and watch what bucking billy does with a 10-10. Yes he can sharpen a chain well and yes he pushes the tune hard too but thats the thing they can really pull numbers and have low down snot too. My 700 i can lean it out till its screaming yet its still got a 4stroke I dont leave it like that as im not racing anyone and extra wear for what but it shows they do rev. The thing is they have a good solid fat power band and when your chain is due for a file and you've got a few more cuts left you can just dig it in and pull through it and pump on the oiler button. Thats the other cool feature. Manuel oil overide... a ba***rd knot thats real hard and doesn't want to cut just pump pump pump and use the dog n it will chew through no stalling no bog and lots of oil. Sometimes high rpm wont bite in and then when it does it dont have the balls to pull it. Thats how i found the 441 yea it hauls ass but still very peeky in comparison.

Will a modern saw still be going and going well in 40 years? Makes them rather cheap. Mark sold 1 a while back a 10-10s 57cc was basically a new saw for a very good price that saw will out last his owner if looked after. Yet people hand over big money for even tired old (10 years) stihls n huskys.

i would like to get a 10-series. i never knew much about old Macs until i started researching after deciding to get this one running. I would like to 10 series modern saw, like the pro Mac 700 (i believe its a 10 series) which is around the same cc's. are there other 10 series saws in the 60+CC's other than the 7-10, 6xx,7xx,8xx?

Oh that sweet sound.

It’s a little harsh without hearing protection up close but it gives me chill bumps when I hear my father fire up the 10-10 a quarter-mile away and I can hear the sound and echoing through the holler. There’s something about the way the trees filter out the sound and makes it so nice.

I sold off most of them and just kept about 15 or so. Mark Heimann got several of them where there was empty holes in his collection.

There was one NOS Pro Mac 8200 that was not running in the photo. It went on eBay and brought pretty good money if I remember correctly. I also had a NOS Pro MAC 4300. We heat with firewood in the winter so my saws get used and I could not stand having a chainsaw on the shelf that I couldn’t use. I ended up keeping about a dozen 82cc models, a super 2-10A, SP40, and a mini MAC with AV.

I don’t need one though. I’ve got my 82cc Saws set up with 20 inch bars up to 38 inch bars and everything takes all the same parts so I should be set for life.

Some have 20” 7 tooth and some are 20” 8 tooth. Some are full chisel and some are semi chisel. 404 and 3/8 and so on. I just mixed it up for hell of it.

Yeah yeah, chain got a little loose by the time I took this video but this has the 404 chain and 8 tooth sprocket. I can’t remember what type of tree that is, looks like a sweet gum or cottonwood.

The video is about three years old which should tell you something. I’ve had no reason to change it back to a 7 tooth
