nice ...thank you for that... i was wondering how i could do that.. i have a spare starter housing thats all busted up but has plenty of donor fins that i could take from... i was planning on using that as an excuse to go ahead and buy a tig welder, but even with a tig, it would be hard getting into those little nooks to weld those fins in without damaging the neighboring areas.
i still need the tig, to fix the crack in the oil housing and probly the hole in the tension adjuster pocket
im super happy with the mod i just did to the blast cabinet, i added a metering valve to the bottom..it now has a much more even flow of media, with the ability to adjust a little depending on media size,
i thought it would be wasted money but wanted to try it, turned out to be a great mod, now the weak point is the actual gun.. but even with the crappy HF gun that came with it, the difference is night and day
i can run at 50 psi instead of 90 and it still gets the job die faster at 50psi and with less pressure theres less chance of me screwing up a part
the cleaner does a great job, but i screwed up and put the carb housings in with simple green I D I O T...not they look like crap.. im waiting on some non abrasive media and im planning on putting the housings and some bolts that got screwed up in the simple green in there to get a bit of shine back to them..not much just so they dont look like i just pulled them outta the mud.. how freakin stupid ...simple green... it has its place, but not with aluminum, it even tarnished the steel bolts and nuts..
