I have not at this point. Now that I’m aware of the cracks, I went back and looked at the listing. They are visible in the photos. I guess it’s equally a joke that I bought it......gotta look close at those pics. Live and learn. Still burns me a bit though.

Hi all again. As things wind down here for me and I can play once again with my saws here, I would just like to confirm something about fuel mixture in my old Pioneer P25/P26/1074 saw (it had parts of all 3 on it, so am unsure of what it is and the ID plate was missing). Anyways, up until last year, I had been running modern non ethanol gas mixed with a quality 2-stroke oil (Stihl), and not the synthetic. I was mixing it at the recommended 16:1 as was originally indicated to run. Since then I have been reading that using modern 2-stroke oils, both standard and synthetic, mixed at 40:1 would be alright in this saw. I do have a new batch of synthetic mixed up at 40:1 here already and was just wondering if it would be fine to run, or should I mix something up as a bit more rich of a ratio? From some reading online in older threads here it appeared fine, but those were many years ago already, so just wanted to be sure before starting it up. And yes, last year when I was running the modern oil at 16:1 it would not stop fogging for mosquitoes.... Thank you.

Thank you. I just wanted to confirm before doing so I did not end up with a dead saw! Much appreciated.

My FarmSaw wanted 24:1. I ran it like that for about 6 years then after a 3-year idle period (my rich uncle sent me to Germany) switched to 50:1 (any name brand 2.6 oz pre-measured oil container to 1-gallon 100 LL AvGas. I add a little gas to the container, swish it around and get all the oil possible). I made the switch after they started adding ethanal to the pump gas and my fuel cap swelled. All my saws handle that mix without a problem. I had a lawn boy mower that I tried to adjust the carburetor on; she is no longer a runner! I haven't tried to adjust a carb again!
One word of caution; if your saw is equipped with a catalytic converter/muffler, AvGas is probably not a good thing. If I'm correct the lead reacts and can/will plug up the muffler.

Thank you. Not sure what type of muffler is on it, but don't run Ave gas anyways, so it sholds be more than safe with my 40:1 mix, probably more like 38:1, as I like to give a tiny extra splash of oil for safety anyways.

l only use 24:1 mix in my Pioneers. best to follow recommended Manufacturer guidelines. better tuning of carb and will not expierence any smoking issues with good oil.
Your saw:chainsaw: will run on the leaner oil to gas mixes but if you push it hard l would be affraid of overheating the saw.

having some problems with spark on the 750, if the wire from the points is connected to the switch I have no spark.
it will spark when disconnected. I’m not sure of the the position of switch parts, I think it’s grounding out when on and off.
I have all the parts according to the IPL. A picture of the switch parts placement under the cap would help.

Howdy... I don't know anything about Pioneers but there's a 750 ( 1964-67?) near me for sale, what are they like?
