Thanks Tim & Kevin.

That makes sense on timelines, the IPLs for 8500 & 8510 totally agree. Good point on the outlet’s discharge angle, and it sure will clear the wood chips off the bar & chain too.

Talking about timelines, I placed this order with VE Petersen for P4000 Walbro HDB series carb parts on 2-12-20, right before the coronachina virus hit. Over 6 months ago & I just got it in the mailbox today, lol.

About a dozen hard part numbers like the angled tipped idle speed screw kits, mixture screws, nozzle check valves, throttle & choke shafts & butterflys, metering springs, pump side covers, small proprietary screws, etc.

The HDB hard parts are quickly going obsolete. Many, like the internal metering plates, already are.

Here’s two 5020’s I’ll be working on. The one on the left looks like new and came with a scrench. The one one the right is missing the muffler but came with a bunch of mud dauber nests in the recoil plus was wearing a McC/echo pattern bar.

Supposedly the nice one runs but won’t idle. The other one has some marks on the piston but still has compression.

Wonder who picked up the $35 5200 that was FS on FB. ;) No not me but would have if local.

Was watching this 415 that was a hour or so from me FS. There was a day I would have snagged it up myself. But been selling out of ths series myself. So if needing certain parts shoot me a list. Some things I am still keeping for my last 2 runners I have in these.

2nd one I have seen now with the partner air filter cover. I have other.
Got new owner checking to see if it has the updated non AI tank and updated air filter set up like mine. If it is 3rd I will tank like that.
Have info on the tanks deal saved.

Top handles revisited:

Is there any difference in performance between a Super 25 Countervibe and a standard 25?

How do the 25’s compare to the newer 190 and 2350?

No so you can tell from the performance. There will be more difference in individual saws than the series as a whole.
They are all pretty stellar performers for their age and size.

Alright, how do I get this clutch off? Craftsman (Roper) 3.7

This was given to me non running. Dumped the sludge out of the tank, a quick rinse with fresh gas then drained again, filled and it fired right up with a little fuel in the carb. The .325 rim is shot and bar isn’t much better. I’ve got a nice 3/8 bar for it.
