Took a bit of carb tuning to get it going, but, I got it pretty close. Need to work it in some real wood to see where I'm really at. A 5" redbud isn't exactly going to tax this thing. With a loop of fresh Carlton chisel it was little more than a "blip" to get through it.

Yep, I'm really going to like this thing. It's light, got some power, and it likes to run.

Perfect balance with the 20" bar, I felt a bit like Luke Skywalker going through that little tree....:biggrinbounce2:

Did you use the aftermarket BB372 kit? If so, did you leave it stock or mod it?

No, got a used 372 P&C from a member, with the innerds to do the HD filter and another carb. Andy did a bit of port work on it, but mainly "clean-up". I'm going to run it a while before I start messing with it. Need to establish a "baseline". Besides, I wanted to see what one was like stock.

Eventually, I'll mod the muffler, then take it from there.

...but that bar is pretty heavy for a 20" one - the 20" on my 372 is a Pro-Lite, much lighter, but of course not as sturdy........;)

The 24" is a Power-Match in Husky dress, the difference in balance is pretty obvious, but still OK.

Now you need a new decale for the starter cover, but it isn't really a 372, as it lacks the beefed-up crank-case - it is more like a 371......lol

Could someone please show what the difference is in the 365 and 372 crankcases. Just looked one over that was running a BB372, and by the untrained unknown homeowner type like me, I didn't notice a difference.

The perfect sleeper 0-65cc saw or 4ci. :bowdown:
I just dont have the heart with my 6401 to tell someone it isnt a 7900 before running them, I always go to the 0-80cc or 5ci class.
But they could be a heck of a sleeper saw. :D

Love the bar too, just wish I could get over the price. Weight isnt a issue after running 84's 88's etc.

No, it has really allways been an enigma - but the info that I trust the most is that the 372 case is beefed up a bit around the main bearings. The 371 was lighter than the 362/365 (less metal in the jug, I believe), and the 372 is heavier - that has to have a reason......:greenchainsaw:

The case was beefed up around the shock mount hole ,blade side cuz some broke there if i remember correctly.

Just for info sake all. I went to my Husky IPL's and looked up the Husky 365 and Husky 372 for the model year 2005. The crankcase part number for both came back as 503626876 and the crankshafts came back 503748703 and the bearings came back 738220225 for both saws, no difference in lower ends on the 365 and 372 2005 models. I was just wondering about what was said earlier and had to research it real quick.

Just a thought, replacement parts is what the IPLs are about, not allways the same as the original ones, when there is more than one saw model in a "family"......

The manufacturers like to keep the total number of replacement parts down, when possible.

out of curiosity how many hours and dollars did it take to get running?
