Just picked up a used super jolly. It’s practically brand new. I’ve never had a grinder and can’t find much info on set up. Didn’t come with manuals. What’s some good settings to start with. And do I need to get different wheels for different chain ? I run 3/8 picco, .325 and 3/8 chains. Any help would be much appreciated !! Thank you

Ok great. I’ll order them ! Do I need to do anything to the wheels before I start using them ? Shape them or anything ?
I think they are rounded off on the edge profile as they come from the manufacturer. They will be all right for a while but you’ll eventually need to dress them after a few chains.

While they are more expensive initially, I really like the CBN wheels from Diamond Wheel in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. They grind very efficiently with less risk of overheating the chain, the profile never changes, and they last a long, long time.

I have never looked back since I got into CBN grinding wheels. What a difference all around. I can highly recommend them! Good call, Mark

I agree, I have the Jolly grinder and I purchased the Diamond wheel for the grinder. You won’t need to dress a diamond whell. That is a great buy, I’m very happy with mine.

I’m trying to figure it out today. Wouldn’t clamp. But filled it with hydraulic fluid and it seems better now, still seems to lay over a little if I’m taking a lot of material off. I have a bunch of junk chains I’m practicing on so that probably doesn’t help. The adjustment in the bottom( where you can slide the whole chain holder front and back. Where do I want that ?? 0?

You have to look at the box your chain came in to be sure. Some chains are filed with a 5 or 10 degree angle, others are zero. There is another adjustment for the type of chain your using, ie 3/8, just under the clamp. Do you have the book?
