I got the model 5000 (?) today. The cheapo kept the spark plug.I found a plug here that works in the saw & is correct.I got it to fire on a prime,so I fueled the saw up & pulled it over only a few times & ended up with the rope in my hand, all 20 in.of it.I rewound the pulley with fresh new rope & tensioned it.I got it ready to put back on the saw in the a.m.I think the fuel tank has a leak,go figure.

Hi everyone, is there a way to distinguish a P55 from a P70 if there are no writings or logos on the cover?
Is there a way by looking at the serial number engraved in the crankcase?
Many thanks to those who will answer me

I got the recoil put back together with what I believe to be the proper amount of rope.I put it back on the saw & it locked up on me.I took it back off & gave it a pull & it started working again.I think I've got an under-sized rope on it.
I put some fuel in the tank again & got it to run briefly.I went to change the fuel filter, but was impossible to do so due to some PO not putting a long enough fuel line in.The filter was way in under the carb.I went to disconnect the fuel line & it broke due to the PO using erthanol fuel,it hardened the line & made it brittle.I'll most likely have to pull the carb for a rebuild too. Here are some pics.Maybe someone can identify the model,or confirm it to be a 5000.

It looks more like R16, what is the serial number? Go back to the guide assembly number I gave you, the numbers are older than the saw ;-)
The guide bar mounts are non-existent.You're telling me this saw is from the 1960's?What spark plug does it use,it came without a plug.Acres' site just says Bosch.

I wrote this only because the guides suitable for this model do not exist either. You have to look for a used or remodel, it would be ideal to find a storage chair I was successful, although the oil hole needs a second

I pulled the carb & rebuilt it & put a new fuel line & filter in.In the process of doing that the throttle linkage fell out & so did the choke linkage.I was able to put the choke linkage back on,but the throttle linkage I can't get hooked back on the trigger. Is there some way to look in there to see how to hook it back on?

The diameter of the cylinder, although after the serial number, can also be tried. Swedes ;-) has a list no.
Thank you Piotr, unfortunately I have to attempt a remote recognition, I cannot remove the cylinder ...
Swedes is a member of this forum?
I'm sorry but I don't know the forum well ...:)
Can you post a link to his profile or to his post about serial numbers?
Many thanx!

You can measure the cylinder when you unscrew the silencer and you have the serial number next to the spur
