I like the 100 yard targets at 50 yards. Look better when I show my buddies my groups. It must be pretty easy to hit those 100 yard targets at 25 feet...

besides, don't you loosen the bar nuts and reset bar position and chain tension at day's end so as to unload load on main bearings?.....If I did that every time I did a chain re up. I'd have empty lock tite bottles everywhere and never get anything done!
Hold on there a second. Aren't you a Texas cattle rancher? What type of cattle rancher doesn't eat his own beef, but buys it instead?

I haven't but will be waiting on you to report back.I may be playing with Stihl Hexa Chain soon... though still debating as I like Rapid Super. My son, who sells Stihl and Husky, texted me that he ordered 20" and 25" loops of 3/8, .050 and files for inventory. Any of you Scroungers try Hexa yet?
can't put a beast like than on my dinner plate for no $12.00! or thereabouts. i am sure u get the idea.Hold on there a second. Aren't you a Texas cattle rancher? What type of cattle rancher doesn't eat his own beef, but buys it instead?
Yeah, what he said!I haven't but will be waiting on you to report back.
I do a fresh chain re up at least three sometimes four times a day when I'm actually cut'n in a production setting. Therfore using loctite for me personally makes no sense. I don't loose nuts from vibration. I'll drop one every now and then though in the moss on the forest floor. Its usually if I'm hung up in a sit back with the head up against the trunk. Cover plate side down and I've gotta take the head off the hung up bar so I can slap my spare bar on to cut myself out.besides, don't you loosen the bar nuts and reset bar position and chain tension at day's end so as to unload load on main bearings?.....

Dose this make sense? If not I'll explain in better detail.
Ok, your STIHL not hearing me. I'm very familiar with loctite and, it's use. I use it on my saws all the time. Just not my bar nuts because my bar nuts DONT VIBRATE OFF!hi kid -
let me explain! it's like this.... Loctite Blue is not just a one time application. and it is not hard setting. as a resident locker on the threads it is merely a stabilizer. so the nuts stay on and don't come off on their own. saw wrench and nbd. actually, well... imo if u ever considered using such... drop or two... you probably would still have the original bottle near on almost still totally full!
I've been waiting for it to hit the states to try out. If your kids willin to ship I'd take a 25" loop and a file 3/8" .050".I may be playing with Stihl Hexa Chain soon... though still debating as I like Rapid Super. What I think we have here is a couple fellas that may just tighten to a different torque. After. Seeing multiple studs pulled through a case it can make a fella leery of overtightened nuts. On the flip side tight enough they don't come loose is good too.Ok, your STIHL not hearing me. I'm very familiar with loctite and, it's use. I use it on my saws all the time. When I take one off manually with a bar wrench sometimes every now and then I will accidentally drop one out of my hand. If I ca t find it in under a minute. I reach into my pocket. Not the pocket with the bottle of loctite, but the pocket with a spare bar nut. I then take the spare bar nut and replace the lost nut. By threading the spare nut on to the bar stud.
Do you understand?
What is Hexa chain, and what type of grind is it?I may be playing with Stihl Hexa Chain soon... though still debating as I like Rapid Super. My son, who sells Stihl and Husky, texted me that he ordered 20" and 25" loops of 3/8, .050 and files for inventory. Any of you Scroungers try Hexa yet?

Just called my guy. He said he has had them for a couple of months. He said a couple of guys I know have been using them and like them. I asked about files and he said those guys have just been using the regular round file. About $4 more per chain than the regular ones.I've been waiting for it to hit the states to try out. If your kids willin to ship I'd take a 25" loop and a file 3/8" .050".
I've never pulled a stud, but I've stripped one once. That being said. I've been doing this long enough to know exactly how tight every nut and bolt on the saw should be to get maximum prime life out of the saw. A t-handle torxs wrench is a must for me. My saw pack doesn't leave home without it!What I think we have here is a couple fellas that may just tighten to a different torque. After. Like every thing else I reckon.... Finding the balance
Looks to be a square grind with a shallower gullet and an anti kickback drive link is all. Whats the concept? What are the Advantages? Are they going to offer a grinder to the public that has three different angle dressers on it? You guys think a standard square file is expensive??? Hand files for that style of cutter are going to be outrageous! Also, now you have three angels that must perfectly meet corners instead of two. Have fun with that one!Stihl new cutter design, somewhat of a hexagonal shape in the center of cutter. View attachment 1059405
