I was thinking the same thing! When my BIL went to work on the Farm he quit bothering me for firewood. When I asked him what he was doing for wood, he said old fence boards from the Farm. Doc fenced all of the pastures on her 100 acre farm with 1"X6" White Oak boards 16' long, back in the 70's and 80's. If cows scratched their butt's on a fence and busted the boards he just threw them on a burn pile. He was burning 40-50 year old air dried White Oak. I took him a load of firewood, and took home 400 of the old boards. I put them to better use.

Awsome brother! Looks awesome! Nice work!👍

I wanna give a shout out to @Sierra_rider. For transforming my MS260 Pro from what I "thought" was a strong saw. To what now actually "is" a strong saw! 🤣 Thanks again bud! You do professional saw work! I think it's safe to say you are definitely a pro modifier. Not only dose it have some sack now, but It came back to me in better condition than when I sent it! Good on ya!

my how time flies! already 40 pages behind.... :wtf: :surprised3:

are we still doing 'other stuff' scrounges...??

scrounged up this lil cantilever tool box over several decades ago. out in one of my outbuildings. has never moved, and has never closed in all those years! pix is as i first found it! i guess not!, stuck (rusted) open like a rock in hard cement!! ~

and besides, not too sure the average rancher, farmer or woodsman... would consider it full of just the right things to take care of one's place! sure has plenty mud dobber sand, though... but i saw farm and ranch treasures....

so i decided to fuss with it the other day! thot it had a nice metal texture to surely go well with the H-R ranch racer single wheel run-a-bout wheelbarrow! rust and ruff!🤩

and fuss with it i did! and coated, dripped and wet all the points of cantilever tool box sliders and levers and arms, etc. spl derusto lube stuff a neighbor rancher told me about, they use on busting down, freeing up the tuff stuff on their big tractors and impliments... stuck nuts on bolts, bushings and such? NO MORE! 😋

with some initial adjustments and coaxing...now, it opens and closes smoothly and with a guaranteed repeatability! :blob2:

and - no doubt a keeper in the making....

[to be con't.]

A few jugs of of vinegar and lots of time.

I was out on the rail trail again today... about 75 yards south of where I cleaned up the beaver felled tree a week or two ago. This time it was an uprooted tree. The ground has been quite wet due to lots of rain. Add in the fact that the woods have thinned out due to all the dead ash and the wind is taking down trees that would have been safe a few years ago. I also took out 8-9 smallish ash while I was there. You can see in the first photo that I had been there before. ;) I had the 261 and 461 with me today...

i did see a few sad posts in glancing about a bit. sorry to hear about SA truck loss! sux to loose a pet... too
been working on my wilderness-like bunkhouse cabin redo, overhaul, rebuild, restoration, repairs, return to home-style life style, remod, changes and more changes... lol.... slow going and slow to get to it.... bordering on bit a over due situation. one day a bug bit me and now getting some attention. with a long ways to go, no shortage of plans and mods, other day, one evening had it liveable inside. kitchen defined, LR sorted out, phase I, a/c in... and sat down for a bit to enjoy the place and recent accomplishments. i had some company, and they seemed to like it all, too....
