Had enough of wood today decided to do something I was putting off. The fender and cowl on my truck the color was off . Couldn’t notice it till it was in the sun so when I put it together in the garage it looked fine . I was baffled as to why it was so off until I painted the ammo box a few weeks ago . This time I read the label and found it was the can of paint for my 68 Golden anniversary truck . I must have just saw the gold drips on the can and assumed it was the right can . Real stupid mistake on my part . So I’ll be painting them on Monday IMG_6472.jpegIMG_6471.jpegShame too as the paint really went on nice and had a great shine

Morning fellers,

Got the rest of the Monstromint uglies/longs/shorts/unmentionables processed into what could be neatly stacked in the shed (about a cord), some on the stack out the front and the unsalvagables Jenga stacked at the end of the stack. I got a second pallet for the uglies and started part of a fourth row at the back.

I'm planning to get back to finish off the rest of the Monstromint tomorrow now I have made some space to unload it.

G'day again fellers,

In an unexpected twist, tomorrow came around a day early and I went out to finish off the Monstromint. Bandy (the farmer) had pushed up the remaining tops into a pile. There were a few nice peppermint rounds in there that I cut last week that are now buried but that's ok. It's been 9 days since I was there and he figured I wasn't coming back. Only had the two remaining rounds left plus the 'platform' I had noodled horizontally. Had to think a little to work it out, stihl a lot of weight in it.

I won eventually. Then had to noodle the big chunks down to liftable size.

How are these noodles?

Good mornin' to everyone! I figured I would post these pictures, take last Sunday, May 28th.This is at one of what my girlfriend,Sue and I refer to as an "Undisclosed Location". We have a $50 yard sale boat that we dragged down in here about 6 years ago. I had been wanting to put a boat in there, since I was a young man. Finally made it happen! Anyway....we trek/ slog in there only twice a season, and keep 6 to 10 of the native Eastern Brook Trout, per outing. There are 9 "Square Tails" (as we call 'em up here) and they provided us two fantastic meals. We are headed to another "Undisclosed Location" this morning as well. Overcast, drizzle and 54F. They should be hitting! Have a great day to all!

Managed to scrounge up some trees to drop, no cleanup, got it started and done yesterday.

Before looking toward the south/wires, of course the wind kicked up out of the NW, and they were all leaning south on top of that, so I used the skidding winch to get them to comply rather than being able to just push them with the bucket.

Got it done though.
The owners nephew is living here and is putting up a new 30x40 pole barn, he also plans on getting an OWB, so he'll be burning all the wood. After watching me cut with my ported saws, he was intrigued, since his 435 didn't cut the same way lol. Who knows, maybe he'll be posting on this thread some day soon, he's gonna need lots of wood for that boiler!

I don't know exactly how big Oakzilla was but I feel that the Monstromint was a worthy adversary and probably comparable in size.

What was this,

10 trips and 25 cubes or 6.5 cord later.

Are you talking about Zogger’s oakzilla? That was about 5 foot DBH. I have a picture of me standing on it somewhere when I went to visit him.

My guess is that he could benefit more from a chain sharpening session than a ported saw. But hey, nothing says you can't send him down both rabbit holes!
