Almost sounds like your dealer should buy a truck load. Isn't it 2010 when our 2-cycle world is turned on its head?

Remember when you could no longer buy R-12 freon? A number of AC shops had stocked up and they ended up making out like bandits. I remember when you could buy those little cans on sale for under a buck. The last HVAC guy I asked said that they were getting $89 / pound for R-12.

weight

No, dont think I will. Its a free country. Yes, I also believe they should lower the weight. But, what will weights be like when everything goes strato motor, if that ever happens.

By the time everything goes strato they will be finding more ways to drop the weight, which means more plastic.lol.....you need to relax!lololololololol:greenchainsaw: :chainsaw:

Yea!!!! lololololololololololol Whatever they do, they need to drop the weight on the newer saws like 441/575 then people will like them more. Quit the plastic BS, they both have the same amount just in different places.:greenchainsaw:

I believe so, btw Husky plastic feels more sturdy than Stihl plastic - LOL!

I don't know who the other wojo guy is that you guys might be getting me confused with, but I didn't come here to start any arguments or anything nor do i wan't to bash any brand of saw. stihl is a great saw thats why i was asking how the 372xp stacks up against the ms441 because i'm torn between which one to buy. the ms441 with a 20" bar is $70.00 more then the 372xp with a 24" bar and 2 chisel chains.

Sure you need that 24" bar? I'll bet you the huskie price comes down further with the 20" bar. I've never used a 441 but used allot of 372XPs and always loved them. That said I like a Stihl 440 too. THAT! said, I like my Dolmar better then both!:greenchainsaw:

Sorry Troll i knew you wouldnt be able to resist replying to that Q lol
In Grass time im using 7 litres a day in the fs250 it cuts into the profits over the summer! if they would only make a 2.5 hp 4 mix 1.9 just aint enough

Well, my FS200 is an efficient grass and bruch cutter for its zise, but it sure use some fuel......:)

I am not a pro, so I don't really care.

In fact it is less, if bar&chain + amount of fluids are the same, but I guess it usually isn't.....:)

According to the independent reports of DLG and KWF, the 262 powerhead actually are a tad lighter than the 357 one.

The specs i'v seen the powerhead of the 262 is 12.8 lbs.the 357 is 12.3lbs.The only way would be to weigh the saws.My scales says 17.4lbs for the 357 ,18inch bar filled with fluid.I didn't weigh the 262 but I will.I know it feels heavier.

The 357 empty powerhead sure will weight more than 12.8lbs, more like 13.0, the specs are a big lie on the 357 and 359 - but that is old news.....:censored:

12.8lbs for the 262xp has been proven to be right on.

I've never understood, why people slander the plastic so much, I ve never had a problem with it. WTF????? Like Sawtroll said too about the paint, I agree about that, I've had 3 husky's now that have seen commercial use, and all the paint is still intact, my 272xp, my 394xp, and my old 288xp, have seen commercial use. They are faded a bit. But that's ok.

I ve never run either 372 or 441, but I ve heard more good things said about the 372 then the 441, maybe cause its been around longer.

372 vs. 441

Here's mine,(opinion) I own the 262xp mentioned and an 044 which is the ancestor to the MS440 and the MS 441 according to Stihl's website.I've worked on 5 late model 372xp and 1 371xp.ALL these are excellent saws, the 262xp, 044/440 are no longer in production. The only weakness of the 372/371 I can personally say anything about them is bolts coming loose and the chain break bolt on the pull cover gets damaged causing the pull cover to separate from the saw damaging the plastic starter pawl.Keep the fasteners tight,,,,,,,no problems.Set the Stihl and Husky side by side and notice the backward cylinder slant on the Stihl. The entire powerhead seems to lay back. After using the husky and going to the Stihl ,the Stihl seems lighter to me.Watch the filtration video where they bury the saws running in sawdust.A weakness on the Stihl? Not enough folks using them.My 044 just had an 1100 board ft. white-oak on it, I don't know what it weighed but the saw took the entire tree on the crankshaft vertically, both covers were mashed, the handle bar and gas tank busted, castings are perfect still and it still runs smooth. Huskys are strong also.I posted a thread awhile back about one holding together with no crankcase bolts holding the halves together, the bolts were contacting the flywheel locking up the engine, run both saws, buy both used in good shape!!!!

This has to be one of the funniest statements ever.

"I believe so, btw Husky plastic feels more sturdy than Stihl plastic - LOL!"

Here is what I think: The faded husky looks well orange
A faded Stihl looks like rotten eggs on the handle and tank.

I really hope I didnt make any enemies. Maybe Im just cranky today too. I stated my opinions, apparantly not everyone agreed, lol. Thats life. I think we are splitting hairs on the argument of the 441 and 372. People have good and bad to say about both. Huskydave is right, I havent used a 372 enough to really compare them realistically. To the original poster: The ultimate choice is up to you. Both are good saws. I have to agree that Stihl saws tend to be pricier than Husqvarna or Dolmar. Probably the main reason I buy Stihl saws is because the first saw I bought that treated me good was a Stihl 026, so I stayed loyal to the brand. to all, no offense meant. Its amazing what cutting a truckload of wood can do for my mood!
