I'll say it again and again, if its on Epay there is something wrong with it! Online auctions are dumping grounds.

Stihl dealerships are only "tranferable" if Stihl agrees.. but the bar is pretty low if you have some assets they can claim, decent credit rating, and keep some of the existing staff..

Yah, evidently that is what killed his selling the (local here in OR, not the one on Ebay) shop to his grandson. No staff there; one man operation. He does not carry much inventory in the way of saws; has heaps of parts though. And it includes the shop and land (good size lot in town).

Hey, they have auctioned off a whole towns on Ebay. More than once. One in CA went for about 2 million in frenzied bidding.

I dump saw part mostly on Ebay. Craigslist works better for heavy equipment and most of the stuff I have to sell.

I was going to buy it but he only has one dealership for sale. I wanted to start out with 2, preferably in adjacent buildings so I wouldn't have to walk as far to get from one place to the other. Then later maybe open another around the block. Close enough for a 20 minute walk, but far enough that my employees didn't feel like they were under my thumb. Maybe have a chainsaw engine powered skateboard to shorten the commute if I have to keep closer tabs on them. Of course I'd live in the attic of one of them.

Good strategy. After all, if you're going to have intense close competion, it may as well be yourself.

Angry cussomers??? ....ah yes, I recall from my earlier life as an engineer ....fade in from white... I was an application engineer in an office, wearing a tie, manning the global hotline for some design products that a billion dollar company produced and sold. I had a big sign on my desk that said, "They are not mad at me, they are mad that the stupid product does not work!" Typically they did not read the literature that went with the products, and wanted it all to work as expected THIS INSTANT! So I typically asked them to look at page so and so in the user manual, and lo and behold the product started working! Then it was all so nice. Typically... I also got a lot of product failures and had to get test cases, reproduce them, go down to engineering and show them what a screw-up they have designed, get a fix, send that to the customer, all while bending over and taking it up the findament from everyone involved.

Yes... those days are behind me now. Good thought though. Angry customers, me standing behind the suddenly all too thin counter, and slowly moving my hands to my loaded AR-15 under the counter... yah. Hmmmm... cussomers... screaming cussomers... ranting raving cussomers that have no clue about reality, never mind how to use a chainsaw... and yes, I can see it now, the blood splatter along the wall of the shop, not my blood, while the shouting suddenly stops and anyone within ear shot stares in amazement, as the blood pools on the floor.

Yes... the angry customer module. I would need that first. After my Frontsight firearms training refresher course!

I would buy it, but the damn laws in OryGun do not allow any development on any land you have not owned since, um, 1972. Even a Ted Kazinski shack! WA and CA are better in that regard.

As for Ted, he is locked up for 300 lifetimes. Doing time with Noriega I think. Or Chuckie Manson. The big house boys.

marriage

And if he does 400,000$ a year where he's located I'll marry my 044.

And you mean to tell me you don't marry your saws??? Dude... Once you marry them and put them in their place the do a better all around job... lmao... I do feel bad your 044 is still single though. I'd be happy to marry her and put her in my herrum here. Send her over, lmao...

:jester:

Yea, no way little businesses down there do that kinda business I don't think... Unless they do a ton of the lawn and garden stuff which is VERY possible in that farm country eh?

Are you kidding? the rep for the local dist in ohio which is one of like 4 in the country is trying to get anyone with a hardware store to sell dolmar. Not that the company is bad just trying to hooror themselves out to sell power equipment. If they market right fine, but right now all you need to sell a dolmar is a vendors license!

I never kid....................................or kidd.................................
