026 oil seal

I am going to replace the flywheel side oil seal on my 026. When I put the new one in can put it in flush with the crankcase or do I have to set it at the depth it is at now? Dont want to put it in sideways or too far in.

it will have to go in so the top of the seal is at the bottom of the chamfer
