Hi,

I got an 044 10mm from a coworker of unknown origin. Seems to be original but I have a question: the chain cover doesnt seem to fit perfectly although it seems functional. I've checked the IPL and it shows a different number but its from 2005 so its too new to be trusted for a 1988 saw. Can somebody look at their 10mm 044 chaincover and let me know the # please. I want to restore to stock glory.

my cover is 1125 648 0402.

saw is 119xxxxxx = 1988.

thanks

Not certain which you have, but there are 2 with rubber chip guards that fit. Yours may be for the 034/6 with the plastic chip guard
yes this one has the plastic chip guard. the 2005 044 manual shows 1125 640 1701 (normal) and 1122 648 0401 (large) chain covers. is 1125 640 1701 correct for a 1988 or is it possible that the on I have is right?

Any with the rubber chip deflector should work. 1701 is the standard cover. 0401 is probably the larger west coast cover. Either will work
